It's like when a whale godmodes you the whole night and then gets tired of poker and decides he wants to try his luck at the pits with his profits. Sure, it's definitely life-tiltingly annoying, but I wouldn't say its bad etiquette per se as long as he actually does just want a change of pace and isn't secretly a ratholing bastard. Once that money is lost it's no longer 'your' money in any sense, it's just 'the' money now, part of the endless inflow and outflow of cash at FW.

P.S. fwi I think silky is a cool dude, I just strongly disagree with him on this particular issue
If endless outflow then why is foxwoods 2.5bill in debt? already know bad money mgmt just saying..
Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason

I absolutely hate people like this. They kill games like O8 and HORSE when it runs. Always old nitty miserable people.

More and more common at the 2/5 table. Guy wins a big pot. Plays a few hands, racks up and leaves. Is anyone else seeing this trend?

Fun Friday night / Saturday afternoon session. Favorite part, by far, was the Great Britain - Korea soccer match in the Olympics. 40s woman apparently of Korean descent (her name is Mimi, I am told, and I think she plays one of the higher-limit stud games) was an absolute trainwreck the whole game (and very loud about it). When it went to a penalty shoot-out, I seriously thought she was going to have a breakdown.

Thankfully, Korea won.

why would you care either way? Theres nothing we can do about it and it pisses me off that so many
"regs" get agitated by things other people do. It's nothing you can control

Haven't played any of the bigger tournaments at Foxwoods and thinking of playing the $600 125k gtd. on the 11th. Any ideas on what the field will be like? Soft?

Soft soft soft.

BTW, If I see you (not you Mrn42, speaking in general) going north of the buy in by a significant margin I'm going to call you out in the future. I don't give a **** anymore. I'm not there to make friends and keep my mouth shut. You want a bigger game go find one.

How many runners would the Aug. 12 11am $230 get? I saw a previous thread mentioning around 200 for one of these. Is that typical or would this get more since it's the second day of the series? Trying to judge how long this one might be expected to run since I'm only planning to stay over on Sat. night.

Also, any ideas on how many runners the Aug. 11 6pm $180 would get?

Thanks
Anyone have any ideas on this? Still haven't decided on whether or not to come up. Basically dependent on whether these will get a bigger number of entrants than your normal $150-200 tourney.

They will get larger fields. I can't give you a ballpark number as I don't pay much attention to the mega events outside of the 4. I just remember thinking wow that's a solid field. Now I am not saying 200+ entries but it will exceed normal mtts that they are replacing for those 9 days.

Thanks. If it's likely under 200, then I probably won't drive all that way. I'm in the Philly area and most weekend tournaments in the $150 buy-in range will get between 100-150 entrants. I was looking to do it if there were 250+.

The saturday night 180 usually easily gets 200+ during the megastacks. The sunday 11 am probably will be smaller and right around 200.

i have found the floor particulary <name removed> helpful when trying to secure a late night room at a poker rate

I usually go up during the Megastacks and those events to play in the smaller buyin tourneys, but i'm just going to play some cash (1/2 or 2/5 if i run good) this time around. I have never played cash during tournament series at FW, but plenty overall.

Are the game tougher/softer with all the added players? I figure it will just be more people of all different skill ranges and obviously it's table selecting too.

But overall what's the deal?

I have found that games are often looser, especially at night, during a tournament series.

tilted tourney players in cash games after busting out of a tournament are +EV

I think it's been fairly well-established on this board that James Woods plays at Foxwoods a lot, typically at the 2/5 NL tables.

My question: Is being at a table with him typically +EV? -EV? Neither?

Things to consider:
a) How good a player he is (I'm told decent)
b) How his presence impacts the rest of the table (e.g. do people specifically try to play at a table with him and, if so, are these players any different than the rest of the 2/5 field, do they play differently at his table, etc.?)

I think that most 2/5 regs don't think anything of it any longer. He's nice enough, although he did tell me that he would donate to our March Of Dimes project then reneged.
I have seen him play every end of the spectrum and back, nit to supreme lagtard.
I wouldn't bother him and just treat him like one of the guys. I think that's how he prefers it

played with him a few times, very normal guy, hes a talkative person by nature it seems as once or twice ive been on the table with him and mostly regs and he still chats away. I think he likes to just be treated as a normal guy (since he is) but ive never seen him get pissed or anything for anyone asking him stuff about his career if u will.

havent played with him....but I did work on a movie with him. Super nice guy, we talked poker quite a bit during his time on set. one of the dealers was telling me the other night that he never tipped the dealer when he hit the bad beat when it was at like 600k? Find it strange.
