Haven't received any offers, except for a thermometer and weekly points, for June as of yet. Hoping some comps show up in the next day or two.

I live in western Mass and think that at times that's impacted my offers despite relatively low monthly play. I know a number of players out here that play FWoods less than me but have still been getting offers.

I've wondered to myself if they keep making offers into western Mass trying to build up loyalty in the marketplace prior to our having a local option a couple of years down the road.
I live in Western MA as well. Also, my points got dropped from 1x a week to 1x a month (and are a lot lower as well). I guess I didn't play enough the last two times I used my rooms there

Settle a debate I'm having with someone here.

Is it a cheapskate move to get a coffee at Panera, drink it in the poker room and because of the free refills offered, go back to Panera and refill? His counter is why should he pay for another cup and that there is no magic line when you leave Panera that your cup is null and void.

Edit: Does the answer change with the knowledge that it was purchased with points?

If someone is doing that I would definitely think it looks like they are cheap but I don't think it is a big deal or anything. Just seems like a huge waste of time to save a $1/cup.

yea that sounds like the definition of cheap nit. your time should be more than 1$/however long it takes to walk to panera and back. (10 min?)

have never had Panera coffee but it must be better than the Poker Room coffee...and larger too. I dont think its that bad if you really prefer their coffee.

I have seen people buy one fountain soda cup from 5th St. and re-fill for the whole day...that is much worse IMO because you are not getting a superior product you are just cheap and possibly stealing.

My opinion of this changes if he is purposely hanging onto the cup for very long between coffees or keeping the empty cup with him the whole day for sporadic refills.

ppl will pay $5 for a small blind but go upstairs to save a few bucks on coffee.

Does he save the cup for the next day as well?

The line at Panera can take a while especially if you're on a 10 minute tourney break.. It's not like it some mom and pop coffee shop anyway. It's cheap if you do it all day long I guess

If you are a winning player that makes more than $30 / hr then your opportunity cost of going to get a refill is more than $1. You would actually make more money by tipping for a coffee and getting to play more hands.

Foxwoods actually gave somebody their money back after the floor made an incorrect ruling? Does anybody the exact details of the hand that occurred in the 5-10 game? Probably still being talked about.

next to cheap in the urban dictionary is this dude's picture
if i owned panera i would be disgusted and disappointed that my generosity was being exploited in this way

I say the quality of the coffee is the difference. If he went to Panera in the first place because he doesn't like the poker room coffee, I've got no problem with it.

Just got an email that Mohegan will now offer a Progressive BBJ starting on 5/1/13 with $80K starting the pot. Guess their hourly high hand didn't work out so well.

This. Panera does have good coffee.

For such a massive resort, FW really fails in the coffee area.

I heard whispers of it at my 5/10 table Monday night (might have been the night it actually happened, there were two tables going) but unfortunately don't know the details of what happened. The game was crazy good for late on a monday night though.

Story of floor giving player their money back (heard second hand, I sat down at the table 10 minutes after this went down):

Player A bets big on river, Player B goes all-in, Player A insta-throws his hand facedown in the middle of the table (clear to all intention to muck).

Player B snap-shows his bluff.

Player A then grabs his hand from the middle of the table, as the dealer had not mucked it yet. Player A then says "call" and acts like he won the hand.

Multiple floors give the pot to Player A, which in my opinion is ridiculous. After going to the back room and apparently keeping his cool/arguing like a total boss, Player B gets the pot 45 minutes later. Player A is escorted out of the casino and is banned for an unknown period of time (I was there for that bit). Nobody knows why he was banned, but one can make assumptions that he lost his cool away from the table. Player A is a semi-reg and you'd probably know him if you are a 5/10 reg, Player B is unknown player.

My thoughts: There is a key difference between a hand being at showdown, and a hand where a player is facing an action. If the action is at showdown and a hand is retrievable (i.e. not totally mucked), then the player can grab his hand back and flip it over.

But if a player is facing an action, then throwing their hand in the middle should be the equivalent of verbally saying "I fold", and their hand should be considered dead. Any other ruling would entice absolutely rediculous angle shooting. Imagine I throw my hand in the middle, you snap muck your hand because you win the pot, but then I grab my hand out from the middle and say "ha I'm the only one with live cards now". You could shoot that angle in almost every single hand. Yet apparently that truly is the rule according to several Foxwoods floors.

just in terms of your last point, you have to show a hand to win the pot. I snapped off an opponent's 3 street bluff the other night and he snap mucked when I called the river but I still have to turn over my hand to take the pot.
