Yeah, I asked during opening week, and this was the response they provided (which I have no problem with now since there's never a waitlist):

"In regard to registering online for 1/3 NLH. After much discussion about turning on that feature, we have decided that in the best interest of the smooth operation of the room to not allow online 1/3 registration. We are not doing it for several reasons. 1) We have so many tables that, providing we’re not full spread, we are able to open games at a moments notice, so there is rarely a wait. 2) It creates a terrible bottle neck on the wait list when you have 100+ on it and no one on the list is actually here."

For well drinks, I think you have a point. For draft beer, having 4 taps instead of 2 at a station should not slow down the process. Removing all bottled beers makes no sense for speed, as they are faster to prepare than draft beer. My conclusion is that it's purely for cost cutting, and I suggested a $4 per drink charge in my email.

Another aspect mentioned by the floor last night is the tiny room that they have for beverage service. He said the waitresses are always jostling and bumping into each other, so maybe removing cases of beer or beer coolers gives them more room to work.

Sorry I didn't make it in for the 8 mix. I spent the day helping my brother's family move back in to their reno and was beat. I'll try to support it in the future!

I just played there for the first time and it wasn't as busy as expected, even kind of dead for a Labor Day weekend.

The poker room seems cavernous, but I heard that they are reserving some of the space for a yet to be legal sports book. The room is great and is a top tier room as far as aesthetic, host staff, service, accessibility to restrooms/garage/food, tables, and seats. They gave the poker room the best real estate in the casino. The couple of dealers I had weren't the best, but they are mostly new.

It is nice having something so close to downtown. Parking is easy, but expensive and Uber/boat/bus is the way to go.

The food is unimpressive so far. I have eaten at the Red8 (really bland everything), Mystique (bone bits in the Waygu dumplings, over priced sushi, strong duck liver flavor in the "dirty duck rice" which I didn't like, but good pork dumplings [which they call ravioli to appease the Italian population in Boston]) The burger at the sports bar looked good, but I had the wings instead (average). I think the Oyster bar could be good?

Pro tips: Sometimes it is really hard to get a drink if you aren't at a table. Go to the Cafe, they have tap beer and usually isn't as crowded as the bar areas.

3to2 blackjack in pits under the big staircase (if you are looking at the split staircase, go under and to either the right or left).

They have a "beer garden" on the lawn in the back (kind of hard to find). Good spot to get outside and play some giant jinga or w/e.

Ordered a coffee last night and found they are now only serving it in paper cups with lids, instead of the nice glasses with handles they used to. WTF? It also tasted like crap and it used to be really good.

Also had a funny moment when I ordered an Angry Orchard, and the waitress told me "We don't have that any more, we only have Angry Orchard Summer". I said oh that's fine, it's still a cider, and she said "no, there's no more apple cider, only Summer". I figured she didn't know what she was talking about so ordered one anyway and when she arrived..... it was a plain old standard Angry Orchard, hard apple cider right there on the label, nothing "summer" about it. WTF?

Drink service was also terrible at our table, where we'd all order, 45 minutes would go buy without her ever returning, we'd order from someone new, and an hour later we'd finally get them. Brutal.

Also The room was completely full last night, no way you could call it close to dead!

Prefer the cup. Actually fits in the cup holder unlike the poorly thought out glass with handle. Thought it tasted fine. Arrived hot, my glass never did. #OMCchat

I played mid-day to around dinner time and there was only 2 games going in the high stakes room and half of the main floor open. It is nice to know it filled up later I guess?
