Sent yesterday. I forgot to edit the parking section to read: "For any and all parking-related questions or concerns, please contact jpsychlady, any time, night or day."

Also had a funny moment when I ordered an Angry Orchard, and the waitress told me "We don't have that any more, we only have Angry Orchard Summer". I said oh that's fine, it's still a cider, and she said "no, there's no more apple cider, only Summer". I figured she didn't know what she was talking about so ordered one anyway and when she arrived..... it was a plain old standard Angry Orchard, hard apple cider right there on the label, nothing "summer" about it. WTF?

Drink service was also terrible at our table, where we'd all order, 45 minutes would go buy without her ever returning, we'd order from someone new, and an hour later we'd finally get them. Brutal.

Also The room was completely full last night, no way you could call it close to dead!
Re-iterates my Sat night experience. I was just there for a few hours tonight and it was almost as bad. I can't for the life of me figure out why they take so long and often just plain never ever return. I can understand delays but to take orders that never materialize is just very strange. Is it some kind of shift change situation? Do they just don't care at all about service.

I did see someone order some kind of alcoholic drink that wasn't beer and it came.

The food is really starting to get worse though. They should definitely tap into the various super nice food establishments in the building and do delivery. This is what a food runner is supposed to do right? Run and get food?

Omg. This. I don’t mind spending $20+ on a meal but I do mind spending $20+ on a mediocre meal

I played on Saturday and we had two decent cocktail servers. It’s really hit or miss.
I just can’t figure out wtf Encore is thinking. Has anyone else sent an email? Has anyone received a response?

Do I get business cards for this?

Lattimer still hasn’t given me an official title.

This is my thinking too. I've tried almost everything once on the menu and the burger for me is $25 ($14 burger + $3 for bacon + $3 for fries + $1.40 tax and $3.60 tip) and what I will usually get. All the new items are mediocre to me and I don't mind spending $$$ if there were some other things.

I've only been to most places once except the buffet, Red 8, and Oyster Bar and there are some excellent items in the hotel restaurants. I hear so often from players returning from dinner to the game what an amazing meal they just had at so and so restaurant I wish they delivered a pasta dish from Sinatra or Fratelli. Ice cream from Bru or the Buffet is excellent and I wish I could get that. I think a quick run to Dunkin for a sandwich is sometimes enough for me.

Maybe we should also start an email push to ask for the servers to be able to pick up food/deliver from the restaurants.
When it first opened, I would order and pick up food myself but it’s a hassle. You can’t call the restaurant. You have to go and order it in person then either wait or come back to pick up. PITA but the food is much better

Went for the second time on Sunday. Got there around noon and it was pretty dead, and it took them about 15 minutes to open a 1-3 table even though there were 20+ people on the list. They first opened a 2-5 table, which had a grand total of 6 people on the list. But within 2-3 hours the room was buzzing.

I quickly changed tables after realizing my table was a nitfest in the making and the next table over had five stacks above $1000. That table was great, other than the guy who'd been playing - confirmed by the clock in screen - for 31 hours. He took forever to even fold and heaven forbid he was in a hand he'd just go on and on. Fortunately he racked up after about 45 minutes. I left after 4 hours of being card dead and losing with aces AIPF like I always do.

Drink service seemed much improved and unlike my first time I saw no dealers that I'd label as below average. When I'm there I don't fully appreciate the room as much as when I get home and think back to just how much nicer it is than what we had to settle for all these years. Weekends should only get better now that vacation season is coming to an end.

I did talk to a guy who was waiting for his buddy to show up before he played 2-5 and he confirmed what many here have said in that 2-5 can vary significantly in terms of action and skill but he still prefers 2-5 on the weekends because there are always spots and you can win more money more quickly. His words, not mine. Still, that might be enough to get me to play 2-5 next time, which is what I'd always played in the NH rooms.

Yes, the food runner thing should include the restaurants and I'd love to start that up. The Aria is the best at this.

Can we also get confirmation what the situation is with drinks? Let's try and start up a conversation with the people in charge of this what drinks are free.

Jelloman and I sent emails expressing our disapproval. I emphasized that their new offerings are not in line with the Wynn standard. I haven’t received a response yet and I’m hoping that others took the time to email as well

Is it 100% confirmed there is no more Corona bottles and Angry Orchard bottles being served in the poker room? If this is the case then I'm sure my favorite of a double espresso w/ a shot of Frangelico is also off the table!!!

Since when did Wynn/Encore as a company get all nickel and dimey? They are usually first class all the way. Maybe they figure the Guidos and Jabronis from the surrounding towns are not worthy of a "Wynn experience"

Angry Orchard is available. Corona is not. On Sunday, Harpoon and Sam Summer were available for a while just so they could kick the last keg(s).

It's also worse given the cost of time rake. If I'm paying $9 per half, I want to be able to have some kind of reasonable beer.

I was there Sunday and the waitress told me they didn't have Angry Orchard any more, only "Angry Orchard Summer" (which doesn't exist); I told her I'd take that and what she brought me was just a plain old regular Angry Orchard.

So the rumors it was removed are false, but even some waitresses thought it was!

I would've thought an Angry Orchard would cost more than a Corona. I should ask about the espresso/cappuccino/latte.

They are no longer serving cappucinos either as of Sunday (few people a table over from me requested and were denied) - I imagine they likely don't serve lattes now either

Soon enough, we'll be lucky to get complimentary bread and water

I had to pay $10 for a bagel + cream cheese so I don't think bread was ever free either... ha...

For the record... they did 'run out' of Perrier waters for an extended period of time this past weekend too. I can see some big whale who is used to playing blackjack or something swinging over to play some 1-3 NL and tries to order a cappucino to be denied by the waitress. I can't even laugh anymore at how sad the state of affairs are.

Quick question for you regulars. I’ll be coming in from out of town next week and planning to play at Encore a couple weeknights. If I am staying very near to Fenway, what is my best transportation option presuming that I won’t have a car? I’ll probably be heading there early afternoon and returning late into the evening. Cost isn’t a big consideration for me.

Appreciate whatever insight people may have.

You could take the subway (green line to orange line) which is about 45 minutes or you could take a Lyft/Uber which from that area takes about 15 minutes and is between $6 and $15.

The 2-5 NL game really needs 1. A must-move game and 2. A third player walking rule. These 9-handed tables can suddenly become a 5-handed table, because the place just doesn’t really have a top-notch system for filling empty seats and keeping players from excessively walking off. As a result, the games in generally can be choppy, lacking rhythm and action. It’s quite frustrating when a poorly playing action fish gets sick of dull action at a six handed game and decides to go downstairs to play baccarat or whatever.

Encore’s floor and staff are overall pretty good, so it’s surprising that they aren’t able to keep games full and flowing with action as well as for example, Chasers in their heyday.

I agree with the 3rd man walking.
I disagree with encore not having a good system on filling seats. At 1/3 they are on it. The desk is constantly going through the tables on the screen and looking for empties and when they miss one or get backed up, a floor calls names. Last Saturday it was comical how on top of it they were. We would be switching seats and a floor would say, “two open seats, got it”
