It may just be a dealer rumor (I was told the same story by a manager) but it certainly seems more plausible than Encore being ok with players constantly harassing them about comps and writing bad reviews. I get that poker isn't a big piece of their financial pie, but I don't think they are the type to ignore a problem either. I guess only time will tell.
They certainly are ignoring the problem that an 8 dollar time every down has created. There was so much complaining about how it was too high, how Foxwoods gave free rooms and a lower rake, etc. Rolled right off their backs like drops of water on a baby duck's down.
I can't understand why they didn't open up gangbusters, offer a 5-6 dollar rake just to fill the room. It's costing them more to charge top time than to lower it and make it up in sheer volume.
Inevitably, when a complaint is known and is such a prevalent one, it always means that staff have no power to do anything about it. It almost feels as though Encore corporate feels they are too high-faluting (as my grandmother used to say about her bank) to have to condescend to their patrons legitimate concerns.
Nice room, great people, still no comps listed after 8 days of play. Great hotel room, got to see a lot more of it than I wanted due to no available limit games 20-40, 40-80, 80-160 stud, mix or HE.
Hope it improves by my next trip Labor Day week. *sad sigh*
