What's the walk like from Harrah's to Borgata? I'm going down for the fall open and Borgata stopped comping me so I'm staying at Harrah's where I get comped. Is it a doable walk?

easy walk, five minutes, or take jitney, from Borgata walk to surface parking lot exit, and follow yellow brick road after fence (two minutes walk on dirt trail)...from other side you pick up trail on other side of traffic light, five yards up on right side of road bearing due south beyond parking lots...

Hopefully they are still running their daily Sunday tournaments even though they will havce 2-300 people there for the RC event.

How many runners do the Sunday tournaments usually get? Both the bounty and the regular NLHE
I was there this weekend and they had a river chaser tourney. The 11AM bounty ran with about 60 runners.

Played in the Sunday 3 PM and it got like ~40 runners IIRC.

The Wednesday 100+20 15k guarantee is where it's at.

Parx is now offering rake back to players. Will the Borgata do anything to compete?

I understand the rake at Parx is 25% higher, there are no free premium drinks, no Amphora lounge or buffet for 10 comps (for black card holders), no bonus comps, and no comped rooms, what is there to compete?

haha. i was about to post something to the effect of "great response" to dipce. clearly borgata still offers the players more (but the rake back is nice... not dogging parx). but ashinynickel is dead on. those parx waitresses are unbelievable.

Borgata has PARX beat hands down. Game selection crushes at Borg, overall cardroom layout is better at Borg. Borg's players are overall nicer and more social group IMO. Something about PARX players that rubs me wrong way, the soft playing regs are annoying as well. I think PARX would have to give free massages out to have a chance vs. Borg.

Even with happy endings, still not enough.

I guess you have to thank the management at parx for acting like male chauvinist pigs (oink, oink) by trying to fire the Parkettes if they gain about nine pounds...(must not deviate more than 7 percent from their body weight when they were hired, http://articles.philly.com/2012-07-1...cktail-servers)

the Parkettes make a lot of money, that job is a privilege not a right

however, i think most of them are poor servers and i would definitely support the hiring of some heavier chicks if they also had better work ethics

What're the PLO games usually like at the Borgata? I know this is a broad question, but are they spewy, full of regs, etc?

You may think it's a privilege and not a right but a federal court and jury would feel entirely different about it. Demoting or firing someone for being pregnant or going on maternity leave is well protected in our court systems. Parx better watch out in this regard if they don't want civil judgments against them. I have heard that the cocktail waitresses are really hot though.

I'm pretty sure that I know what you were trying to say.

But the way that you said it means the opposite of what you meant to say.

They are hired as models, so everything in their contract is legal.

Don't be surprised when the lawsuit is settled out of court for terms that will not be disclosed shortly after the judge informs the parties he may find the contract a fraud as the employees may be found to be cocktail waitresses who serve liquor and not models or entertainers, no matter how bad their work ethic. ...what work ethic? I went to parx several times without ever seeing a server despite ordering a drink at my slot machine many times...I have never been back...

It's funny cause every time I hit up the Borgata I always think to myself that the waitresses just don't look like they used to haha...

not true, they make the initial job requirements to be an entertainer & make them sign a contract

they are not normal employees, they tell them when they hire them what the weight requirements are

you will not be seeing any old or fat waitresses there anytime in the near future

No problem buddy. Knew that info was exactly what you where looking for.

By the way, while playing 1/2 Saturday night at those tables right by the cashier, well, more accurate would be Sunday morning, saw a guy with a rack of black chips cashing, and knew he looked familiar. Asked dealer if he knew who he was, and he said it was Greg Merson.

I'm going to be in AC the weekend of the Fall Open's Main Event, (and maybe the weekend prior) and would gladly stay longer if I survive; but can't afford the buy-in. Are there any satellites planned? I don't see the usual list of satellites and smaller tourneys that usually accompany these types of Opens.

Thanks in advance.
