Not that it matters to me...I'll never win the thing. BBJP being taken off 20/40 makes me want to play 20/40.
It's hit 56 times since Christmas 2008 (per the B's website). I'd conservatively say it's been 35 (9's or lower) 21 (10's+ or SF). It's prob even a higher ratio than that. I literally have no data on it...but I read this thread every day and the number of "BBJ hit...Quad K's beat by SF" stories aren't jumping back into my memory.

Stan, I can run some stats for you on the BBJ if you provide me with some more historical data, although I'm sure your staff has already crunched some numbers before you decided to make the change.

I think it's a good way to keep the Borgata's jackpot very high so they won't experience as much of a game drain when some other casino's jackpot gets really high (like at the Taj a few months ago).

I appreciate the offer but we really do have all of the information we needed to see what the outcome would be. I think people hate change and this is change, but once it gets going like we know it will, people will see how much better this is.

Too true!

It takes the variance out of frequent hits. How can that be bad for BBJ winners?

It's still just a fish magnet that really benefits regulars. 2+2 is not representative of either group.

Stan: What's the ratio of small and big jackpots expected be awarded to be based on previous hits at the Borgata? It seems like the ratio would need to be greater than 8 to 1 for the average small jackpot to be over 100K assuming that any jackpot is hit on average once per $133K put into the BBJ.

Let's say that the BBJP drop was $15,000. Now, the new BBJP for the new day is $315,000 and if you hit the small BBJP it wil be worth$78,750.

Even better, if a smaller BBJP hits at 1pm the BBJP totals do not change. At 7pm another small BBJP hits, they will also win $100,000.

Stan
And, if someone wins the BBJ with quad jacks v. quad queens 30 minutes later that day, $400,000 is split among the table, since "The BBJP will stay the same."

Right?

Looks like only the small jackpot will act like that. However, the updated rules aren't posted yet.

I didn't realize 20/40 was ever BBJP eligible, although it has been almost 2 months since I last played in that game.

Stan....or anyone that knows

I know this has been asked before (a couple times) but my brief search hasn't found the answer yet.

I just checked my comp $ and about $100 disappeared. I know it's been mentioned that you should just stick your card into a slot machine for like 20 seconds to "update it" and keep the comp $$ from going away....

...BUT, how can I get that back if possible? They weren't a year old. Most of my play had been between Dec 09 and June '10

Is that gone for good or can I make that $100 "reappear"?

Thanks for your time Stan

I have to make some corrections with my earlier post.

If the BBJP is $400,000 and your table has a smaller BBJP hit. Say, quad 4's loses to Quad J's. The table will win $100,000. The BBJP will change to $300,000. However, the $100,000 Smaller BBJP will remain throughout the day and may be hit again instead of changing to $75,000. Sorry for the miss-information.

Stan

Thanks for the clarification, Stan.

Your first explanation didn't make sense, I thought that I should give a result of your explanation, and I was pretty sure that you would correct the explanation.

How are the single-table SNGs at Borgata, specifically the 60+15 or 100+20 -- how long do they last, and how quickly do they become shove-fests? Would be interested to hear people's experiences.

Never played the 60+15 but the 100+20 becomes a shovefest pretty quick. Although the players are so bad it's not uncommon to see people limp/fold with 5bb or limp/call with J7s

Not a fan of the Borg's SNG's. Too few chips, too fast levels.

sit and go felt like online poker, and im not an online player. it was like a turbo shovefest. although as someone said earlier, the level of play at my table was laughable. im not going to, but i bet if you know how to play, and do 10 of them, you'll come out on top no problem.
