I hear 3-4 people take their 20 minute breaks during the Stud8 level.. does the game turn into O8 usually? I think when the PCG was going that O.E. table usually broke as people flocked to O8 (only).

I guess the PCG died?

I am confused about how the Borgata keeps track of your poker play to get the Black Card. I currently have one and have been playing there a good amount in the past year, but on the My Borgata Rewards page it says "You need to earn an additional 999 Comp Dollars by June 05, 2010 to maintain your My Borgata Black Label status." It has said this for months, so it cannot possibly be correct.

Could Stan, or anyone, clarify how many comp dollars you need to earn playing poker to keep your black card (and during what time period), and if there is any accurate way to keep track of your total earned? If you need to check individually I can send my card number to Stan separately, but I thought others would be interested in the answer to my question.

You have to earn 1000 comp dollars within 365 days (one calendar year). If so, you will be awarded the Black Card. Once you have the Black card you will see a date on the card. This date shows when the card will expire. The date is one year to the date that it was awarded. You have until that date to earn 1000 comp dollars to keep it.

So do you know why the system says I need 999 more? I have definately earned way more than $1 since last June.

Based on info from previous posts, system issues affecting what's shown on the website, they know about it, they're working on it, if you really need to know where you are speak with someone at the rewards desk by phone or in person.

I do not believe poker hours are included in that countdown calculation, but if you go to the desk or to one of the floor people, they could tell you how many hours/comp dollars you have from poker.

No, John does not play at the Borgata. I would love to give you the names of all of the pros that do play but i will leave that one to marketing.

That is because the poker system stands alone from what you are looking at. You will need a poker manager to look up your play in the poker room to see if you can be upgraded.

This is a little different from the poker offers. But it is always best to speak to someone in person just to make sure.

Enjoyed my past couple days at the Borg and the 10/20 LHE game. Thanks to Stan for all his help getting me set up. Great run room as always. I hope to be there a lot during the summer and hopefully jump into the higher LHE games.

I would also urge them to stop using multiple must-move 20/40 games. It creates way too much moving in-and-out on the second table. If there are three games, I don't know why they can't just have one must-move into two main games.

is the 20/40 O8 a morph from the 10/20?

I agree with this. Also, those who make it to the "final table" are generally solid pros/regs who play all day and night, making it the worst of the three games. The second move is a likely quitting point for those who aren't as motivated and tend to play for fun. Just my thoughts - always enjoy playing the room.

Yes. They kicked Stud8 to the curb, changed it to just an Omaha8 game, and kicked it up to 20/40 w/a half kill. I came in long after the game had been changed, and on a scale from 1-10, the game was about an 11.

+1 to the Daisy Chain being a bad idea. I understand that the poker room wants to "protect" its main game, but usually by the time I get moved a second time I am ready to call it a session.

I can't imagine the must move chain is good for the overall health of the game, since so many people just pick up and leave when they are called for the first game anyway.

I don't think the PCG has run (significantly, if at all) since November.
