Remember the Omaha is a 2 day event, which ends, as usual, at final table or 2am. Day 2 is 12noon I think.

I'm not sure if they will complete the event in one day if they get to final table by midnight... if that's even possible.

I'm eyeing this one too.

If it did hit twice yesterday, that's a total of 4 times in the last 6 days alone, wow, WTF, why couldn't it hit when I was there over the weekend

Hey, posting this here since I plan to be visiting Borgata (and AC) for the first time this weekend.

So, I live in central NJ and being very budget-minded and car-less, my genius plan transportation-wise is a 4-hr train ride on NJ Transit basically going from New Brunswick to Trenton to Philly 30th Street to AC. This comes out to like ~$15 or something, one-way. Obviously it's a long trip, but it's a lot cheaper than the AC express train (which I'd have to get on at Newark), and probably as good or better than taking a bus. Once I get to AC, there's the free jitney to Borgata, correct? That should be easy enough to find/get on.

My plan is pretty much to arrive Friday evening, play a roughly ~24-hour session, and take the train back Saturday night. Anybody have any tips for this? For example, can I bring a back-pack into the poker room, so I can bring a change of shirts and a tooth-brush with me? Thanks in advance.

I have never heard a official ruling on whether or not backpacks are allowed in the room. I have seen backpacks in the room, but I have also heard stories of rent-a-cops on power trips that will not allow you to even walk in the room with one. These are the same cop wanna-be's that threaten to kick you out of the casino if you are not sitting at a 90-degree angle on the wicker furniture in the front of the room. Some of the guards are cool, and some of them treat it like an audition to the NYPD.

+1. Do not forget to tip the baggage desk employee a couple bucks for their troubles. I believe you can even buy deodorant and other tolietries in the Borgata store. LOL.

i basically always bring a back-pack with a fresh shirt or hoodie and various toiletries (toothbrush, eyedrops, cologne, etc) and i've never had any problems. i can't imagine disallowing a backpack when purses are obv allowed

Plus, if there are any concerns, you can drop off your backpack at the bell desk next to the hotel check in.

They can hold it for you while you play. When you pick it up, a $1 tip would be appropriate.

This way, you'll have one less thing to keep up with while you play.

Thanks for all the replies; I think checking in at the baggage desk or whatever it's called sounds totally reasonable.

Ha, I guess my main concern now is whether or not I'll actually last a 24-hour session before busting. See y'all at the tables tomorrow.

Much easier and cheaper to catch the bus from the rest area on the parkway in Sayerville. Like 35 round trip but you get like 15-20 cash back at the casino and the schedule is much more flexible. You can take academy bus to the Marina and then just hop on the jitty or walk if the weather is nice. Use the coat check by the front desk why have to carry the back pack and remember to pick it up when you move around.

I've brought a backpack in the poker room before, as I've seen many players with a backpack with them all the time, you should have no problem with it

hey Stan, I sent you a PM, get back to me when you get a chance, thanks as always

Well just booked a room in the water club for sunday night, was the same price as the normal hotel. My poker rate didn't apply because it was a sunday but I still got a good price so I don't know what rate they applied. Hopefully I can get a few hours of late night poker in after the girlfriend goes to bed.

Stan, just another vote for ending the daisy-chaining of the 20 games. It's tremendous that you guys seem to be routinely getting 3+ games BTW. The daisy chaining just really screws up a player's ability to get into the flow of a table/game. And if you were to ax the daisy-chain, there's nothing preventing people in the main games from requesting a table change. I know there will be times where you end up with two short main games, but consider this post as one vote for that being the lesser of two evils.

For whatever it's worth.

Agreed! I forgot who wrote this first, but the regulars who demand this "protection" are all asleep when the main game breaks.

heres a question. i love the borg but sometimes the waitresses are a bit shall we say unsteady in their coming to their table. in fact i would say its the norm to go an hour without seeing one if i dont request it.. so can i bring a 6 pack w/me of my preferred beer or is it like a movie theater where no outside food/drinks are permitted?

As acdawg712 posted above, if you need a drink, and waitresses aren't around, just ask for Stan as he provides quick and polite service!

On second thought, Stan is usually really busy. I recommend not asking for Stan unless there's a real problem.

I have never had a problem getting quick drink service at Borgata. It's strange to hear others complain about it.

What hours are you playing?

In a super long session one day/night, the service was great during the afternoon and decent during the evening.

However, from 1AM up until 6AM, my table saw the waitress maybe every hour and half, despite several people from the table making reasonable and calm complaints about the lack of service to a floor person. The room was not busy, but perhaps they were short on staff or just accidentally glossing by our table. Who knows, but it didn't really bother me, I wasn't looking to order anything most of the time.

planning a trip soon, is the 5-10 uncapped? About how big does it play? Are the 10-25 games primarily only run on weekends?

10/25 runs 4 days a week usually and spotty on weekdays but we usually get 25/50 off every weekend, both games are uncapped...5/10 is 2k cap 500 min and is pretty nitty from the small sample i have there, still super soft and much more passive then west coast dynamic.
