But any of the sit down restaurants/buffets are great, too. If you have to eat and you're not getting direct comps for your play, then using comp dollars is the way to do it. Since it sounds like you might have enough play for a black card, the $10 Player's rate for the Borgata Buffet is a great value. Trip to the Amphora lounge is great too for $10. For $900, though, you could grab a meal at every restaurant Borgata has to offer.

The worst way to spend comp dollars is burning them up at a 2:1 ratio at the food court or retail shops. $30 for a hero? $25 for a pack of cigarettes?

One more option (besides Spa) is to transfer the comp dollars into vouchers for MGM properties in Vegas (a side benefit of the MGM and Boyd partnership) This transfers 1:1 also, but I think there's a minimum.

One other thing to keep in mind. Comp dollars expire after 180 days, so don't let them expire on you.
THanks didn't know they expired. I already have the black card and am not really looking to spend it all at the restaurants. I may look into the vouchers for MGM.

Other than that is my only real option to go into the shops I guess??? I was really hoping I could get a gift card to another store for example apple or something.

Believe it or not, I believe (but I could be wrong), that you get mugged 2:1 in the Borgata stores, even the Borgata Collection and Borgata & Co.

I think you are right I was looking online and saw that they have a store called Whim however things like an xbox360 and ps3 were 700 plus. Making my comps worthless.

It is beginning to look like these comps are useless to me.

playing yesterday, i bet $42 on the river. the guy says "$37, ill call" and the dealer tells him the correct bet...he folds. Stupid me, didnt call the floor, b/c it was a pretty good pot and the dealer was a nice girl, didnt want to get her in trouble, but in retrospect...im a little pissed off. I had a beef right? I should have gotten my bet from the guy no?

Have the buy-ins for the Friday and Saturday tournaments been reduced permanently? When did this change happen?

guy was messing with you. dealer did nothing wrong, no reason to call floor. be happy to take down "a pretty good pot", less $42 or 37.

the guy had his hand on chips ready to call $37, and for some reason, as soon as he heard $42, after saying the word "call," he folded. that $5 changed his mind?

Is the experiment with the 6max tables over, or do they just not get enough players to run?

no, it didnt change his mind, he just wanted to mess with your mind...... i dont know about you but i've found that when someone puts their hand on chips they are acting like their either ready to bet or make a call but they really dont want to have to call a bet to get to the showdown.

wait, i think you just worded it differently. first time you said i"d call 37 after you bet 42, this time you say he said call, well in that case that should obviously be a call.

My complements to Stan. Last time we were at Borg (6 months back), there were no chip runners, so if someone got tapped out, they couldn't buy back in and had to go to the window. Typically, they just left the table. There were numerous other issues. This time, the room ran great. My main regret is that there seems to be no competition from other poker rooms any more, but oh well.

One comment for Stan - I realize I can't expect a poker room to be perfectly sanitary anyway, but I assume the dealers at least are expected to wash hands when leaving the restroom. It was kind of a turn off to see someone who appeared to be a dealer flush the toilet and walk back onto the floor without washing. You can't stop customers from doing this, but the person dealing the cards has much more impact on the spread of germs. Do you have a policy on this?

I'm pretty sure the Borgata has always allowed people to buy back in at the game, it's only the first buy in that can't be bought at the table. They've at least allowed it since I started playing there, well over 6 months ago.

There would be almost no point in the dealers even having racks if people weren't allowed to buy in at all.

After the first buy-in at the cage, you can have it either way. You can reload at the table, or if you want to reload at the cage, the dealer will keep your seat for you.

I tend to reload at the cage. Gives me a chance to stretch my legs, get away from the table after a bad beat, etc.

Hey Stan, did you get my reply to the PM I sent about this upcoming weekend? I'll be getting there Thursday afternoon and leaving Sunday. Let me know if you have any questions.

Side question: I found my players card from MGM Grand in Las Vegas, do the players points from that still work in AC?

Don't feel bad. You made the right decision. With weather like this, I have told my employees to stay home and be safe.

Geez, I take a couple days off from the thread and come back to find this nonsense?
the point isnt that its just a tourney, the point is that the tourney wasnt canceled due to safety concerns. the tourney was canceled due to monetary concerns. if it was due to safety, the room would have been closed altogether.
you say with weather like this, you would have told your employees to stay home, which isnt what borgata did, but yet you say he did the right thing??

the tourneys were cancelled for two reasons, both related to money:
1. the tourney dealers (all of them, not just the guarantee tourney) would have to get paid (not for a full day, but still) for showing up, even if they werent all needed. so theres going to be a low turn out, cancel them all and tell the dealers to stay home.
2. the guarantee tourney would have a low turnout for sure. not only would they have to pay the tourney dealers that werent used, they would have to put in a big chunk of the guarantee.

im not saying the borg cant do whatever they want, but dont come here and telling us it was out of safety concerns. if it was out of safety concerns, the whole room would be shut down so employees didnt have to come in or even feel obligated to come in. no matter how bad the weather can get, some people just feel obligated, or need the money, or whatever.

once more: if it was a safety concern, the whole room would be closed.

also, borg is rewarding (not sure of the precise gift, but theres something) the dealers who did show up in the face of the storm instead of calling out. im going to guess that most of you will say that this isnt borgata encouraging dealers to risk their safety in the future, but if you think about it a little, you will realize that it is just that.

as far as the dealers getting rooms for the night. thats nice. almost as nice as them getting to spend the night safely at home with their family.

apologies for the late replay (not that anybody cares).
