2. the guarantee tourney would have a low turnout for sure. not only would they have to pay the tourney dealers that werent used, they would have to put in a big chunk of the guarantee.
From my experience, whenever there is a bad snow storm in AC, poker rooms tend to have way more players than they can accommodate given their number of dealers, not the other way around. The players are usually stuck inside the casino, while the dealers get stuck at home.

There would be almost no point in the dealers even having racks if people weren't allowed to buy in at all.
Thanks to the two people trying to be helpful with how it works to buy back in, but in fact I was at the Borg 6 months ago and they had no chip runners the day I was there, and the dealers ran out of chips at the table. You could NOT buy back in and were forced to go back to the window the entire night. I am a mildly +ev 2-5 player and did not have to buy back in, but it made the turnover at the table quite high, since every time someone lost a big hand they gave up and left. It also slowed the game down, since it would cause a long discussion each time it happened. The same night they closed the desk where the cards are handed out very early so if you didn't have your card with you, you couldn't get one, and combined with some flaky display machines, there was no way to validate rewards totals either.

That's why it took us 6 months to come back, but I'm glad we did. Everything was first rate this time and while I also like Taj just fine, Borg has won the war for NLHE at least, so there is a LOT more action at Borg.

That is weird. Never seen a problem with empting racks and usually fills do not take more then 15-20 minutes. Usually the floor personnel are good at keeping an eye on the rack and processing fills. Very surprised to hear it was an issue all night long, and not just something that was temporary.

None of the Atlantic City casinos have chip runners.

Same here, I was there for the big December storm and this was definitely the case. They slowly got enough dealers in to get more cash games going, but would have been impossible to run a large tourney. As it was many dealers were there for several days.

Just got back from a weekend of 5/10NL at the borg. I enjoyed everything, definitely run a class room.

There was some good action including at least two 10/25NL and an uncapped 25/50NL that ran until pretty late last night/this morning.

Stan, I sent you a PM with a question.

How long does the 11AM Tournament usually last Stan assuming you win it? How long is the final table usually? How many breaks are there during the entire tournament and for how long?

Thanks!

Stan=[3.14(factory worker)+average (poker dealer)]/insanity]

Borgata=[(poker+beer)*insanity]+[(booze+buffets+horse betting+hot chicks I can never get)/having to home to my wife]

Borgata+Stan=My Saturdays

I didn't know you could do this. Does anyone have details?

I believe it's in $50 increments, and you "buy" them in advance in AC, so you have to use what bring to Vegas.
