Fantastic.

All this while I was stuck at the effin car show. Now, that's a bad beat!
@Machmood - was good meeting you (I was the 10 seat trying to get you in the HOSE game).

@IFSATG - ummm you actually were invited. I have text message evidence. I'll send you details in PM since its easier.

@RuleroftheEast - THANK YOU SO MUCH for running this for us, and a very equally huge thank you to your two shift managers who let me start it.

I have another flimsy excuse for next Saturday, too

That's why I'll either be down on Fri or Sun.

Being nice to individual players, and making exceptions (not assessing penalties, and just giving warnings), is penalizing everyone else at the table, and everyone else at the tournament.

It's important that all floor people and the TD are on the same page as to the rules and the appropriate penalties to ensure consistency.

Also, Stan, this issue is being discussed in the Borgata Winter Open thread:

This guy was totally shooting an angle. It is completely unfair to table a hand to gain a reaction from an opponent. The angle here is that the player has nothing to lose and only something to gain, as his opponent's chips have already been bet. Furthermore, in this instance, the opponent thought that the hand was dead, and, thus, he tabled his own hand to show the bluff.

This type of move is something out of a home game, and I personally think its awful that this behavior only receives a warning in tournaments run by casinos.

I have played in other casinos around the country where the accurate ruling is the hand being dead AND a penalty being received.

I thought in tourneys (heads up) you are allowed to turn over your hand to get a read, unlike in cash where the hand is immediately dead (right?).

thanks..

No it's the opposite... sort of.

The hand is not declared dead, that's a myth. But in a tournament, you can't show your cards or you will get a penalty.

In cash games, you can usually show your cards in a HU pot, but it depends on the house rules.

The best part is he rec'd no penalty and then continued to act like a jerk.

I don't know Jason Young and don't pretend to....and I'm not commenting on any of his life except for the actions of Sunday Jan 31.....and on that day, he was acting like a giant dick.

On the last hand before the dinner break, there's four way action at the front of the room and Jason Young is in the middle of it, along with Mario Vitale

The action is:

Player 1: Raise to 800
Player 2: Call
Young: Raise to 2,600
Vitale: Call
Player 1: All in 17,000
Player 2: Fold
Young: Call
Vitale: All in

The action is back on Young and he's incensed. "Are you kidding me," he says. "I can't wait to see this train wreck. Okay I fold," as he throws his cards into the muck.

Player 1 tables 9-9, while Vitale shows A-Q. The flop brings a queen and Vitale takes the pot.

"That's horrible," says Young, and when asked what he folded, he replies "the winner, I folded the winner, of course I folded the winner," as he goes on break with 33k.

"I just play my cards," says Vitale, who's from Venezuela and has 110k. "I'm trying to beat him and him," he adds while pointing to the empty chairs. "I'm just trying to play the game."

I guess he laid down KK here. Seemed like he wanted it to be a hero lay down (which is fine at the 100-200 level in tourney where you start with 600BBs) then found out he was way ahead and rather than keep it in, he semi-berates a guy calling him horrible. Very Helmuth-esque.

You stay classy Jason Young!

by the time this Sat rolls around it will have been 3 weeks since I've been at The Borgata. I'm going through serious withdrawal. Getting my poker fix online just isn't cutting it.

I see 3/6 HOSE got off Sat? Lots of ARGERS? I just signed up and locked in a room for this year's ATLARGE. Hope the NLHE is deep-stacked like last year.

I'll be down Sat around 1pm and would DEF be interested in some 3-6 or PINK HOSE. If not, I'll kill time at 1-2 or 2-5 waiting for PLO to get started.

I think for the daily tournies, as they mention not to put chips in your pocket, they should also state that turned over cards is a fold (if that's the local rule).

What's the ruling if on a cash table someone bets out (HU on river) and the other person flips over one card, then the better mucks his hand thinking the other guy folded. What's the local rule on this, cause it sounds like an angle shot people would do... also, would the ruling be common all over AC, Vegas, etc?

tks.

Wrong.

Some rooms allow it in cash games; some don't.

Shockingly yeah it was an ARGer game. We got beyond lucky to start the game and it rocked. I don't know if it sustained after us, but I kinda doubt it.

Nope - I played some 20/40 on random days and the 3/6 HOSE. I was in the PLO tournaments as well...that's about it.

action at 2/5 nl is usually great, throughout the tournament series and usually in general they have a number of 2/5 games running and theyre always decently soft, GL

Do you mean how many 1-2 and 2-5 tables? There will be plenty. 10 (or more)1/2's and 7 (or more) 2/5's tomorrow afternoon.

I don't know how many people will bust day 2 of a $3,500 then come to a 1-2 table so it won't be THAT much diff than any other Tues. Maybe Slightly busier....People that bust from your friends 350+50 should fill some 1/2 and 2/5 tables starting at 1 or 2pm.

You'll have plenty of game selection....It's The Borgata...no worries.
