Hopefully Stan can give you an official answer but from my experience I've been able to make deals but the casino had no part in it. Some dealers helped split the pot according to what we ask, and others have basically said "I have to give the pot to the best hand, what you guys do away from the table is your own business."

I also had one dealer tell me that if we make any side deals and we hit the BBJ then it's void (not sure if this is accurate ?). Lastly, most dealers will start dealing immediately once you are all in so if you're going to deal you're gonna have to be quick.

Speaking of the ACES train - anyone have an idea if the Borgata comps the ACES train fare? Would love to take this over the bus but its -$60 or so on the trip for a round trip from nyc.
You would have an offer in your My Borgata Rewards account if they did. They don't automatically comp it for anyone.

regarding that point, it is bestowed upon the player initiating the deal to make sure the dealer knows and waits a while until a deal is hammered out

hopefully Stan can chime in with an official response. I do play the 5/10 at Borgata, and have seen a couple of different variations, but don't know what the official ruling on this is... I remember one time 2 guys made a deal preflop to split the pot 30/70 in AA/KK situation, and when the dealer was chopping the pot a player who was not involved, objected to the split and told the winning player that he had to pay the losing player from his own pocket for that 30%...luckily it was a small amount, but what if it's 2K and the winning player didn't have it on him?

I have also seen dealers refusing to chop the pot and saying to players that it is their own responsibility, etc.

I believe this is the proper way.. to pay the guy with cash from your pocket. To protect the sanctity of the game the chips must go to the winner. It also allows collusion. Who knows if they will settle up later or never plan to.

If a bad dealt, I would want him to have all the chips so I can win them from him.. not 70% of them.

I don't think deals are allowed on the active pot, I believe the CC won't allow it, which includes running it twice.

Players must play their hands independently. Any discussion of the prize during the playing of the hand may void qualification for the Bad Beat Jackpot. If any player, whether directly or indirectly involved in the hand, passes information or instructs another on how to act or reveals his/her hand to other players, the Bad Beat Jackpot will be disqualified.

Because the ACES trian is shared between different properties, the fair can not be comped.

I dont believe the cameras pick up voices.

Good luck if you think the dealer will say anything to disqualify the hand!

In the end, if one guy had quads or a SF he ususally is pretty stonefaced and is not about to tell the other guy he has a monster hand...

We can not be party to any deals at the table. The pot will be pushed to the winner of the hand. What happens to that money away form the table is up to the players. Monies are not supposed to be pushed back and forth between players at the table because we play table stakes.

Which is exactly why it shouldn't be allowed in the casino. I don't want the dealer to wait while two guys debate crazy deals.

Heya. What's this weekend's activity going to look like? Does Halloween increase/reduce players, on average?

I expect a # of players will be taking kids out to get candy instead of going to AC... all depends on the demographic of the poker players.. (kids?).

I don't think there will be more than the avg weekend, but Stan might recall from last year.

God, after taking the ACES train a few times and then having to go back to the bus a couple Thursdays ago I wanted to cry.

The train >>>>>>>>>>>> the crappy bus

They really need to add a Thursday train down.

I would assume that it would not help business. And since it is a special day for kids of all ages with alot of fun things to do, It will have an impact on business but I really don't know by how much.
