There is no official or semi official word.

If there was someone from borgata would be doing some semi positive press.

Those dividers arent for poker.

I wouldn't think publicizing something before the state has signed off would work out well for them. And given the state's track record, they should probably wait a week after getting the OK before making an announcement.

My thoughts exactly. They gain nothing by saying anything about something that isn't set in stone

It's a good sign to see that Vinny is still on the payroll.

On the one hand, “yes”.

On the other, “NOOOOOOO”.

Is this confirmed?

I heard from a friend who asked a dealer and was told "October" has anyone heard anything else more solid?

From what Vinny wrote, it seems like they will reopen shortly after getting approval. When that is, it's impossible to say, so everyone is just guessing at this point. If it even gets approved. Maybe 8 is ambitious and gets turned down, but 6 is allowed. We'll have to wait to see

ive been at borgata pretty often over the last 3-4 weeks. have asked a few different people in different departments(pit bosses, dealers, security, front desk) if they have heard anything about poker and the answer has been "no" every time. so the fact that no one has even heard a whisper or anything about it opening leads me to believe october is best case scenario. it's ghost town down here during the week. weekends have picked up significantly in the few weeks ive been down here. but they still are very slow compared to what would normally be down here at this time of year.

i think it would take at least a week from whenever a decision is made to open to room actually opening. so mid-late october would be on the good side of luck for those hoping for opening if you ask me.

Maybe they know when the poker room will open, but maybe they have been instructed to say nothing about it.

Maybe they don't know when the poker room will open and maybe they are telling the truth that they don't know.

MAYBE

Why would they be instructed to lie about their poker room re-opening? Don't you think they would WANT people to know poker's coming back? What's the big secret?

I think it's unlikely that staff who aren't poker room staff would know much, anyways.

Love that people conclude such wild things based on the information available. Poker will never be dead with deduction skills like the guy above still around.

While I’m no mind reader I do think I can tell when someone is “giving me a company line” as opposed to honestly telling me they don’t know.
Also, those blackjack tables that were mentioned by the Borgata poker room manager are being put in as I write this. Looks to only be in the front part of the room before it opens to the full length area after first few tables.

Fwiw ... the pit gents probably know as much as any of us do. Including our resident twitter high roller.

When its open, or official on way to.. theyll be blasting about... why not right ?

As far as I can tell, the NJ state restriction is still 4 players for poker. Unless that is changing, no sense in opening the poker room.

Also looks like they really want more traffic - Last year I was getting most Fridays and an occasional Saturday comped, now I'm seeing all but a few days available for comp for the next 3 months.

A picture yesterday was circulating the interwebs of a table in the poker room outfitted with plexiglass dividers. Maybe that's it? I hope he knows more!

I would think they would wanna be ready for when the green light is given, so that can't be worth anything tbh.
