TRIP REPORT

I came down from NYC to play Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

There is one cleaner wiping down the entry door but aside from this, the supposed precautions MGM/Borgata are taking are, quite frankly, hard to notice.

Tables are 9 handed, but for some reason all the tables are clumped together in a giant room instead of being spread out. Does this make sense to anyone?

People are using hand santizers but the dispensers are not kept filled. I have my own santizer, but on several occasions, all the dispensers in the room were empty. There was an additional dispenser in the Borgata hotel lobby, but I saw no additional dispensers anywhere else on casino floor.

I play certain slot machines and I saw little to no additional effort in cleaning these machines. I would see a machine with a pile of tissues and garbage and be back to in an hour or two and the garbage and tissues would still be there.

The poker tables were mostly regs and pros. Saturday morning, there was not even one 2/5 game remaining .

What doesn't make sense is anyone heading to a casino right now

Knowing how poorly the borgata poker room is one this is not surprising at all.

Do I have to still cancel my booked comp rooms for April if the casino is closed?

The closure email said "reservations, events and promotions have been cancelled through April 1st, 2020."

So if they haven't reopened, your reservations will be cancelled automatically.

This must really complicate things for the Euro guys who live out of the hotel. But I guess the highway motels will be super cheap right now.

I really miss you guys

I hope everyone is ok, and staying safe. I'm holed up on the Upper East Side going out as little as possible. We should be on a downward slope by the end of this week. Fingers crossed

Stay safe fellow UES neighbors. I was driving back into the city tonight and I'm the dummy who didn't know there was a curfew. (No text alert from the city, etc.)

UES is blocked off to car traffic but walking on the street I did see shady characters loitering around who will be up to no good sooner or later. I don't understand why the cops won't start doing ID checks and take care of anyone who is not a resident.

So since AC is closed and we are under lockdown, Curfew game at my place! JK.

Given that salons and barbers aren't opening until the 22nd, and gyms "sometime afterwards", I'll take the over on a July 4th open.

I also live on the UES. Surprised they wouldn't let you if you can show you live here.

I am actually going to start doing home games again soon

very pessimistic poker on agenda for borgata. I'm hoping someone else opens for poker in AC and pushes the rest of the market a little but not holding out hope..

Heard a rumor that Tropicana may have poker when they re-open. Unconfirmed, of course. Strange, since they are the smallest of all the AC rooms.

I think Tropicana was the second biggest room in AC after Taj when I used to play there. They certainly would get some poker business if they opened.
