I have been told several times, sit down or you will not be dealt in, this is exactly what the dealer should do, tell players to sit, once they get up warn them their hand is dead and then reach to muck hand.
Clearly that is referring to cards face down, not cards turned face up at showdown. The guy showed his hand, the dealer misread it and this guy wants to win with the worst hand on a technicality. Cards turned face up at showdown and live and have to be properly identified. The cards speak and any player, dealer or floor person who sees and error about to be made in awarding the pot is supposed to say something. It should be given to the other guy in this spot period.

Saw this twice last week: a dude gets an absent button after going to take a piss and missing an off blinds hand. Not sure if the dealer was mistaken to do this, but if not, sounds kinda stupid to me.

Classic is the Borgata (original) tower. Club is the Water Club (new).

Differences/preferences were discussed in the thread not too long ago, if you look back a couple months.

Letting the cat out of the bag on this -- fastest / cheapest way to get Borgata Black (no "gambling" required):

1. Apply and obtain Hyatt Chase Credit Card. First year has no annual fee (and then $90 or so afterwards). Hyatt credit card gives you automatic Platinum Gold Passport status

2. Status match your Platinum Gold Passport/Hyatt status with M-Life (MGM). You become M-Life Gold.

3. Status match M-Life Gold --> Borgata Black (go to Borgata Card desk near the lobby to do this).

4. Profit.

Wow that is an insanely smart method. I'm assuming you have to fly out to vegas to get the premium card, but still well worth it

What is the obsession with a black card that flying to vegas would be "well worth it"?

The only real perks are the $9.99 comp buffets and free parking. I mean it's a solid buffet, but come on.

I plan on taking numerous trips to vegas regardless a year so I would already be there. I'm black card without the method I just thought it was very interesting.

$10 buffet is better than the $35 or however much it costs these days.

This is basically a free black card for those that already have Hyatt Chase (or are already Platinum+ with Hyatt) which is a decent credit card overall if you like Hyatt properties.

I should have clarified a few points (did this a few months ago so confirmed it works). You do NOT need to fly to Vegas if you are already a m-life member.

1. Sign up for Hyatt Chase / get approved (first year free). You will need to also sign up for Hyatt Gold Passport if you are not already a member (free membership). Confirm online that your Gold Passport level is Platinum .

2. Status matching Platinum status Hyatt Gold Passport --> M-Life Gold: You must have "opt in" in order to get status matched.

Link for opt in details: http://www.hyatt.com/content/partner...ort/mlife.html

3. Once you're M-Life gold (check this online), go to the Borgata card desk next to lobby. Show them your M-Life profile on your smart phone which indicates you are M-Life Gold and your ID / red card. They will confirm that names match and issue you a Black card.

4. Go to Amorpha Lounge to celebrate.

I guess I misread it. If somebody turns over their cards face up, runs out of the casino cursing like a mad man, and he had the best hand, its his pot. Like others said, cards talk.

I like borgata a lot, but lol at sending me offers to fly me to Atlantic city for only 349. I live in Baltimore.

Lol I've played with a guy at Borgata who gets flown down from NYC to AC on Borgata's private plane regularly. They also supply him with a butler for the weekend.

349 seems stiff from Baltimore. You need to figure out how much action you need to give them to get the private jet and butler imo.

I am heading to AC and probably Borgata this weekend. I've been browsing 2+2 for a while but this is my first post.

I know "soft poker rooms" has been discussed a millions times but just want to hear about some current thoughts. I know Borgata is having a monster stack event through the weekend with all daily tournament cancelled. I heard that when there's are tournaments going, the cash games are going to be softer. Is this true?

What about Borgata comparing to other rooms? I've played at Borgata, Bally's, and Trump (closed) before but not many times. I know Borgata is most player-friendly but what about your ideas about the players themselves?

My background: played for three years, mostly with friends at home at small stakes. I feel that my skills are average or below average when I sat down in a casino poker table.

i agree that at 1/2 it's little difference...

that said... in my experience cash games get softer and juicier at borgata during tourney series. the amateurs and gamblers bust out early and join 1/2 games and play loose and fast.. and often valuing hands as though they're in a tournament (less patience... will go to war with AK every time). if you're looking to ease in this is a good time. the ratio of pros/regs to amateurs will be lower at 1/2 (good players and a lot of regs will jump up to 2/5 or higher... and there will simply be more tourney players that flood the room).

when i lived up there i made sure to be at the B during their big tourney events. and i don't play tourneys.

edit to add this tip... the best thing about the cash games during a series is the shear volume. if you're at a table and feel uncomfortable or a little intimidated, just ask the floor for a table change. do it as many times as you like. specifically pick a table with smaller stacks if that's what you're more comfortable with (which should be easy as most players will be trying to get away from small stacked tables). there will be 30+ 1/2 tables running during the series.

table changes are your friend (and after you get comfortable... you'll start table changing for the exact opposite reasons lol)

tldr; table change

Did anyone else get an offer for a Vegas trip giveaway? Wondering what it entails, and what the details were. I inquired around and no one seems to know anything.

I found that the players are more intimidating at Borgata but play much riskier. The players at Ballys are not intimidating at all but wont throw dumb money at you because they are drunk and rushing to go into the club.

I'm a 1/2 black card reg and didn't get anything. Do you play pit games more especially high stakes pit game? I'm assuming that is how you would've gotten it.

Have never played a single hand of any pit game in my life. Honest truth.

How does Borgata's comp room system work? It seems like you can only used them a couple months in advance. I was sure I had free rooms till May when I checked back in Jan, but now when I checked, there is no free rooms anymore.

Do you have 10 comped rooms reserved right now? If so you won't be able to book anymore.
