You get the right people stuck then 5/5 and 5/10 will run.

Larger uncapped PLO games above 5/10 will run depending on if the players that support that larger game are in. Spring open it will run.

Wow - I'm watching Bravo and the wait lists are crazy. I'm coming down next weekend (Friday afternoon through Saturday night) to play PLO and I've gone from being concerned as to whether the games will run to concerned as to whether I'll be able to get into a game at all. Are the wait lists really as bad as Bravo says they are?

Any guesses as to whether next weekend will be more or less crowded than this weekend? I'm not sure if the fact that it's leading up to the Spring Open main event means there will be more or less people playing cash games than there are now.

Thanks in advance.

It usually settles down after the first few days. I've been there on later weekends of several Opens and not seen the crazy lists. Though I generally get in around 5 or 6pm on a Saturday; late morning/early afternoon might still be crazy.

I'm a semi-regular playing at Borgata. Great room, great tournaments, good food options. Many of the rule changes made at the beginning of the year were good for the games. The one area in which Borgata must do better (I hope Borgata poker room management is reading) is there needs to be better communication and staffing between the cage and the poker room.

Last night at 11:30pm - the line to buy, cash out chips along with cash out of the tournament was about 30 people long and only one window was open (the 2nd cashier on duty was "on break"). Several on the line were cashing from the tournament - which tend to take more time then someone buying a rack of chips. There is no reason why someone has to spend close to a half hour on line - to cash their chips in at the end of a session - or to cash their winnings from a tournament after playing a times 2 or 3 days of poker - or at least 10 plus hours to get in the money.

The lines often to buy-in to a tournament often spills out in the hall and beyond Wolfgang Puck's. My opinion it's poor customer service to make someone wait on line over a half hour to spend a decent money to buy into a tournament.

Noticed a near fight yesterday afternoon - between people wanting to re-buy, people wanting to register for the first time and Borgata cage and poker room staff. When the line gets long - someone needs to monitor and direct people where to go. (At times there is a dedicated re-buy line/window and at times there is not).

Much time was spent writing a new rule book, putting new rules in place. I don't have the solution - but please Borgata poker room management - put some focus on improving your customers experience in buying and cashing in chips and cashing out at the cage (and registering) for tournaments.

As a side note - seems all the "absent" buttons are disappearing. At my table yesterday - there was one (no others were available) and the dealers were unable to give them out. Later in the day - the floor took the tables only button away - as a table next to us was short.

While I agree with your post, a stopgap solution is to chip up to big chips and then go to one of the cages on the casino floor. I know it's kind of annoying, but the cage by the main craps pit always has a bunch of tellers. If the line is huge in the poker room, a 2 minute walk + 5 minutes max wait < 30+ minutes waiting.

Or depending on how much of a reg you are, just take them home and then you don't need to buy chips next time

Obv not a solution for tourney players though

Wonder if this is a player response (stealing absent buttons) to the new rules?

I must say with all the gripes I see as of recent I feel I've made the right decision to concentrate my play at Parx. I was a bi weekly or better player at Borgata for years. I feel the room has gotten significantly worse since Stan left. The dealers, floor etc just dont seem to care as much nowadays. I hope they improve to their heyday. I still love the place bit more for nostalgia than anything else. They put Poker by the meadowlands it's over if they dont get on their A game.
Sounds crazy but everyone thought no one would leave Taj to go to the Marina. We all know how that story ended. Years away, but the threat is there. I hope they take heed. Bimonthly trips are all it's worth to me now, and that's only to bring the wife along. GG Borgata

Played cash at Parx for 6hrs for the first time two weeks ago $1 $2 friendly down to earth folks. Started with $80 worked it up to around $325 blew most of it cause i didnt know when to quit . Screw the ROI when your up a decent amount get up and go or kiss your winnings bye bye as far as im concerned. After some decent tournament scores at Borgata in latter part of 2015 the place leaves a bad taste in my mouth of late due in part to my lousy luck and bad beats at the table. Played the seniors event lasted 6 levels . Want a recap let me know

Pro tip, cashing out chips and the line is long. Take them to the main cage in the pits

What stakes PLO do you want to play? Borgata is strange in that there's a gap between 2/5 or 5/5 and the next game. There usually isn't 5/10 that runs, but on the weekends 10/25 or higher will be running. Recently it's been a 5/10/20 triple blind game, but I think the 10/25 is much better. It just runs smoother with less red chips.

I'm looking to play 2/5 or 5/5. I've played both at Borgata before. I was just amazed by the wait lists this past weekend and would hate to make the trip on Friday to find that it's impossible to get into a game.

it's never impossible, one thing they are still pretty good at is managing massive lists

borg has plenty of tables and is rarely short on dealers

now if there's just 1 plo table in the corner playing 6-handed for 2 hours with 4 ppl on the list the ball is getting dropped 90% of the time

Lists were just insane this weekend with both the poker open tourney's going taking a bunch of tables. And lots of tourney players busting and then coming to stack off in the cash games.

Usually no wait for more than 15 minutes any weekend minus a couple specialty games

I have shared these concerns with Borgata's poker director, and I have been assured that imperfections have been identified, and improvements are in the works.

I have also been assured that the quality of Borgata's players' experience is of the utmost importance.

Borgata's poker director is the most pleasant person to converse with since he's always extremely diplomatic and will never say no to even most outlandish suggestions.

However, if you're hoping that anything will actually get done you're in for a rude awakening.
