hopefully this means i can easily use non-poker comps from mgm national harbor instead of going to the front desk and have them xfer $ to borgata.
(pain in the ass because of lines)

also, hopefully this means no more having 2 cards that look exactly the same:
one for borgata and one for all other mgm properties
i have to write on the card 'Borg' so i dont mix them up.

First time i got the Borgata mgm card, i mixed them up because i didnt know.
Hilarity ensued... (not really)

One last thing- Why did it take FIVE years for a multi-billion $ company to do this???
Nothing good will come from this

I'm assuming they will downgrade poker comps to how they work at all other MGM properties (no tier credits, comps separate from other casino comps and have to get a voucher from the poker room instead of just swiping your card), but it's not entirely clear how it will work and there's some chance they will keep decent poker comps for Borgata.

I'm not seeing $40 in Bonus Slot Dollars in my account. Shouldn't they be there now ?

I got this same text in an email but since I never play slots but have given them some craps action, I had $100 match play instead of the $40 slot dollars.
So the amount and type seems to vary based on what you play.
If you are 100% poker, not sure if youll see anything. We're you getting any slot$/match play before now?

That would be suicidal for them, there's more than 1 poker room in AC, unlike the other MGM properties except LV.

I was booked up through the last week in April well over a month before, and they're now saying the last weekend that I didn't book would be $319 fri/sat or $79 on a weekday, but then my May and June calander is showing fully comped (a couple random saturdays showing 109 and 129) so maybe it's just temporary.

i still have no comps showing. i havent played there in a few months but played a ton the first 3 months of the reopening. the few friends i've talked to about this also say they don't have comps showing, despite most of them having played their normal volume.

I am 99.9% poker so maybe that's why I'm not seeing anything. I'll get my wife to check her account, maybe she got something.

I lost my weekend comps and May is completely no comps.

What will harm them greatly is when NY approves three normal casinos near NYC. They are ready to pass a budget imminently that supposedly will do so. The rumor is the two existing racinos, Empire City (owned by MGM Mirage) and Resorts World, would want to turn into normal casinos, and a third casino would be built somewhere else. If any of those places offered a poker room, much less incentive to go to AC anymore for people in the NYC area like myself...

I think it’s a matter of when, not if. Mgm ain’t buy the yonkers one just to keep the fake casino as is. Poker there would be a problem. Especially a tournament series. That would attract so many people

You guys might wanna update the FAQ on the front page. A lot of stuff is irrelevant now. I was playing 2/2 PLO last night and was able to run it 2x and 3x. Also not sure what the comps are at 2/2 PLO but it looks like 1.5 an hour.

The FAQ asked for help recently and didn't get any. I don't want to make more work for the mods by doing incomplete updates.

- Masks must be worn.

- 50 tables now, 7-handed.

- Sign up and leave if there's a list, you'll get a text or call.

- No spectators, no hanging out in the room.

- Drink service ends at 10pm?

- No smoking anywhere indoors?

- BBJ on, other promos off.

- 1/2nl is now 1/3 nl.

- Raked games are now $5+1.

- 2/5nl is now raked. What other games?

- Games still time (5/10nl+?, 10/20lhe+?) are all +$1?

- Comp rates are increased to...?

For the moment, I want to list changes vs. normal, since I haven't seen any clear indication of their permanence. When something like normal resumes, I'll incorporate new policies as appropriate.

Drinks are back to 24hrs

There's a HH every day from 10 to 10 which is alil diff than regular HH's. Every hand starts at 250/day and if it gets hit, the next person to get the hand doesn't get anything but it goes up 250/day until it's hit (quads min., kicker plays).

no smoking in doors

also should mention if you get up you get two missed blind lammers before you're subject to be picked up. Most supervisors when called over for it count out the money, then they have to call surveillance, so if they're busy you'll have some extra time. But it's still hardly enough time to grab a cold sandwich and eat it on your way back up.

The fast track casino proposals did not make the budget, but mobile sports betting did.

Eventually it will happen, poker in nyc will exist in a casino environment. When and where I don’t know though

The moratorium is scheduled to end in 2023 I think, so in the next couple of years it probably will happen.

Thanks, Playbig2000.

I'll link the promo page rather than specific details, since those tend to change month-to-month.

Can anybody else fill me in on these?

- What's the min/max for 1/3nl?

- Is 2/5nl the only previously timed game now raked? (So time is 5/10nl+, 10/20lhe+)

- Time games are all +$1 from previous rates?

- Comp rates are increased to...?

I doubt them taking poker comps away will hurt them at all. Most poker players are break even for casinos. Might as well keep the rooms for people that play in the pit. Borgata will always be busy because they keep the casino clean, up to date, and the food is good. Poker players are worth about $15 an hour to the casino. That's hardly worth it. They might give rooms away if they are less than half capacity. Well see what happens. But having poker players live in the casino because they play poker seems ridiculous to me.

They have about 3K rooms, and they don't comp more than 2 days in a row (for non table game poker players) or the add'l days would be $79/night (or $59 if you ask for a lower floor which is the same room as uppers but they don't advertise this). Also a lot of people bring their spouses who play slots all day, and they both order expensive dinners at night, so ending room comps would be detrimental to their bottom line.

100-400 for 1/3 buyin
10/20 LHE time raked at 6/hh (+1), 20/40 was still 7/hh though, not sure where other time raked games fall.

If they have that many rooms than ya it won’t mater. No way they fill 3000 rooms. Makes sense to comp room than.

Na they don’t want to start giving away too many free rooms even if there vacant , it’s bad marketing. Cheap nits who get used to getting free rooms won’t ever want to pay for a room again. Kind of like how we already have nonstop complaining here about rooms costing $29 even though $29 is a steal, because said cheap nits got used to getting rooms for less than $29

Lol detrimental to the bottom line. Losing poker players would hurt, but let's not be ridiculous.

From what I hear from reservations they are renovating a number of floors in the Borgata main tower in April so the number of comped rooms is limited for this month. Come May and eventually summer they will still be comping me two nights Sun-Fri. This has nothing to do with poker fortunately.
