re: MonkerSolver

What affects the speed of iterations? As an example, I have run 2 sims.

First one was 4kM nodes, and with 24 threads it run about 500k/s (iterations)
Second one was 10kM nodes, and with 24 threads it run about 100k/s.

Does the complexity of the tree affect that speed, or is it something to do with my computer? First sim was 60% of my RAM, second was 80%.

re: MonkerSolver

I'm getting "Unable to connect to server" on monkerviewer everytime I open it, anyone else? I can still log in eventually (it takes a long time to start) and view my ranges, but it's weird.

It also doesn't show frequencies for the hands? Just pure RFI / 3b / etc.

The complexity of the tree can affect the iteration speed. It seems your second tree was larger, but run with lower accuracy settings correct? Smaller trees with higher accuracy settings iterate more quickly than vice versa.

Hi, Where can I find the monker store? and also what do numbers infrequent of the 'sb' signify? i.e One sim with a 3x open as 4sb and the 3b option seems to be 20sb, I'm trying to work out what 3b sizing is being used.

re: MonkerSolver

Weird thing happened to me. I was running a preflop sim that had winrates on all positions. At 5 I/N I hit the reset, and now it looks like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/sRpWAs85DW

Shouldn't those winrates go up, as it has calculated quite a lot after the reset?

For all positions and preflop actions, it shows EV's after the hands in right side of monker. Just those average on left are not updating. Should I be worried?

I bought monkersolver today and am having trouble using it. Does anyone know if there are any tutorials more comprehensive than the website?

I keep getting an error saying "ERROR: Out of memory" even though I have plenty of memory free (8 GB physical memory and 1.03 TB capacity).

Under the settings tab, the abstraction is x GB/1.78 GB, and I can't get anything under that to run. I bouught this computer a few months ago, so I doubt my memory is so low that I can't run anything.

I don't know much about Monker nor do I know what you're trying to run but I can tell you that 8GB is nothing when it comes to sovlers. My server has 96GB and still not enough for some spots.

Hi I have a question about Monkerviewer. How do I see the exact preflop frequencies? I can see the boxes are not fully coloured but when I hover over each combo it only shows the EV, not the exact frequency. I'd prefer being able to see the frequency rather than just eyeballing and estimate.

You can reach the Monkerware store by creating an account and logging in here.

In your example the sb refers to the raise amount. 3x is a raise of 4sb to the BB, or total raise of 6sb, followed by a 3-bet raise of 20sb or 26sb total raise. So the multiple in that case would be 26/6 or 4.33x.

If you are trying to load a lot of ranges when you start Monkerviewer, this can cause very long load times or loading errors.

The EVs should not be displayed this way, or go to zero simply because you reset the average. There is likely an issue with your game tree.

The out of memory error refers to the amount of RAM you have available in your system. If you have 8 GB of RAM installed, then realistically you have 6 GB of RAM available, because your operating system will require 2 just to operate correctly.

Depending on what you are trying to do, you may also need to adjust your Monkersolver configuration file in your Monkersolver directory. The file is labelled 'MonkerSolver.l4j.ini'. In this file, and using a text editor, adjust the 'Xmx' value accordingly.

Effectively, numberonedonk is right in that you will need more RAM to be able to get much use out of Monkersolver. I would recommend upgrading your RAM.

I would recommend upgrading your machine to 32 GB RAM.

You can't see the exact preflop frequencies for individual combos with Monkerviewer.

re: MonkerSolver

I would like to use the Lock Range feature in order to split up larger preflop sims into multiple smaller sims. For example, solving for only utg 6 handed (if utg opens the sim plays out and if utg folds everyone folds) and then using that utg strategy to solve for utg+1. How exactly do I do this? Do i simpley copy/paste the raising strategy for utg from the first simulation into the search bar in the second simulation and click Lock range? Any advice on whether or not this is the most efficient way of doing this or if I'm even just wrong on how this works?

I would like to know how "lock range" actually works and what it does. Haven't found any information on that.

Why cant I see mixed stategies in monkerviewer? Instead it always generates different pure strategy. I want to see the correct mixed strategy.

edit: oh, I need to click "enter" got it.

Hey, i have a question about how custom abstraction works for Omaha postflop, since there is no file to select from.
Thanks in advance

re: MonkerSolver

when making a preflop tree, i want to give the option to add antes, do i just add dead money as ante? and if i do this i need to change players stack sizes as it has come out of their stack before any hand is dealt (am i correct in thinking this) sorry for the stupid question, monker hard enough to get to grips with

Am I reading correctly that monker isn't recognizing all the the RAM in this machine? thinks there's 6.22 but really there's 60gb. Any way to fix?

Once you have calculated the first-in raise range for UTG, you will need to lock that range into your second sim, but now when UTG raises, all players must fold.

You lock specific ranges to specific actions, and then the solver will compute the new equilibrium based on your specifications.

There is no requirement per se, the solution is solved when it has sufficiently converged. A general minimum, where the strategy starts to become reasonable, is 10 I/N.

Yes, you can add antes as dead money. If you want this to be reflected in the stack sizes, you could decrease the stack sizes accordingly.

Locate the file 'MonkerSolver.l4j.ini' in your Monkersolver directory. You will need to open this file using a text editor, and then change the Xmx value accordingly. In your task manager it says that you have 57.6g available, so you could set the value to 53g.

Thanks! Is there a metric to look for when considering whether a sim is finished? Or is it more just looking for the ranges you are solving for are no longer changing much

Hey Isaac, I'm having the exact same issue and I couldn't find a solution to this.

Folder structure is: C:\Program Files\MonkerSolver\Ranges\Hold'em\6-way\100bb ; Monkerviewer is in the MonkerSolver folder.

Any other idea?
