re: MonkerSolver

Thanks for your reply.

The 'sort by' options i have are 'buckets', 'probability' and 'EV'

I sort by probability and that shows hands in descending order as you described

But what I want to do is remove hands that get there to that spot with a negligible frequency. So I don't want to see hands that bet with a 100% frequency but are only actually at that river spot with 0.01 combos.

Thanks for helping, sorry if I'm being dense!

I should clarify, I'm trying to solve preflop, not postflop. Specifically for 200bb deep 9max games with a SB ante. The guys in the monker discord indicated I would need at least 1TB of RAM.

Seperate question- does Monker have reporting features? Something like pio's aggregate analysis?

Thanks for your time!

Anyone know if there is a way to change stack sizes without having to build a whole new tree?

have you tried just letting it go for a (very) long time? mine works it just takes forever, like hours.

I want to transfer data from MonkerSolver to another program, does anyone have information about the MKR file format?

This is what I see from my version of Monkersolver (10114). If you are using this in conjunction with Vision, then my guess is that perhaps you are using MonkersolverFREE which isn't as up-to-date as the main Monkersolver.

My answer was regarding preflop solutions. The tree you specified could still be within a range of RAM sizes, because it's not clear how big your ante is or how complex the tree is, but I would say that in order to solve it well, you are looking at a RAM range of 512-1024 GB of RAM, yes.

There are some features in the software, such as Views (http://monkerware.com/views.html) that give you an aggregate view of ranges.

After you have saved a game tree, you can select 'Edit pot/stack' and change the stack size and pot size:

There is no export to Monkersolver feature. Ideally you would have the original file that was used to export to Monkerviewer from Monkersolver.

Have you tried reducing the amount of files you have in your 'ranges' folder, and then loading again? If you have too much data in there, this can cause long load times.

You can also try increasing the 'Xms' value in 'MonkerSolver.l4j.ini', and see if that helps.

re: MonkerSolver

I messaged Monker's support about payment methods and got no reply for a month. So I went on the Discord and asked if anyone wanted to chop a license. Apparently they don't allow that because I got banned really fast. But if they're not going to respond to my messages about paying for Monker, how else do they expect me to obtain it?

Just move your saved runs folder to the e drive and then set that as default in monker. Options is under settings tab, default saved run folder.

If I'm running a Hold'em flop sim to~50 iterations/nodes, should I re-run the sim on the turn to increase accuracy of the turn/river results, or will the results from the flop sim still be relatively accurate?

re: MonkerSolver

Hey Guys,

Just wanted some clarity on below :
1. If i run a 6max PLO preflop sim with settings at perfect/none/none, will that affect the accuracy for flop strategies MS comes up with ?

I intend to solve separately for turn and river by copying flop ranges generated from this sim.

Thanks

re: MonkerSolver

When re-running a turn sim using the results from a flop sim, is it best to copy the Strategy, Range or Normalized Range for ranges into the new sim?

re: MonkerSolver

when running a preflop sim i need to take in account actions that are taken postflop? or monker will assume players just check down after actions and will change pre strategy? am i correct in thinking this?

The Discord channel is not affiliated with Monkerware. Likely they removed you because messaging about licencing is against their rules.

Re-solving separately for the turn/river is recommended and will improve accuracy. Especially for the river.

Yes, running with no texture settings will have a large impact on postflop strategies.

Copy the range.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but if you are solving preflop, you will need to have a postflop game tree that includes bets for preflop to be accurate.

I'm assuming someone somewhere actually figured out how to use the script function so I'm curious if that person would like to share the knowledge.

Thanks in advance,

You haven't provided enough information to give a clear answer, but I would say that based on your description, 128 GB RAM will likely not be enough. However, I would recommend that you simply use the 'Estimate RAM' feature from the 'Settings' tab in Monkersolver to estimate how much RAM your intended solutions will require, before purchasing hardware.

Does Monker take into consideration the card bunching effect when creating pre-flop sims?

It does. I saw someone go over the details of a sim where he used 6 handed, 4 handed and 3 handed sims. In the 6 handed sim the cutoff played tighter than it did in the 4 handed sim and in the 3 handed sim the BTN was looser than it was in the 3 handed sim.

re: MonkerSolver

Overall for Monker is RAM far more important than cores and speed when running preflop sims?

I'm looking into buying a beefy computer and currently I'm looking at 128GB with 24 cores and was wondering if this would be enough?

re: MonkerSolver

I just got this at the advice of my coach, Im using it for NL, I already had pio and pio seems so much easier to use, I am trying to set it up but have no clue what to do, I built a tree I liked that at least had all preflop scenarios for a 6 max, now cant load that tree back up to use it. Im trying to get a 6 max solution for 6max play, and don't know where to start, there isn't like an easy to use tutorial that I have seen and ive looked all over. I also don't understand monker viewer from monker solver. I bought monker solver, so is monker viewer just an easy to see way to show you the results of sims you have run? I don't know where to turn for any advice, my coach lives around the world and I don't want to use time I could be using getting coaching with him setting it up for me, if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be amazing

As of now, I want to throw my computer out of my window.
