the worst part about the Latino scene was the grandmother walking up and that dialogue. I literally couldn't understand what she was saying or what was going on. not in a "zmog" kind of way, in a bad, "this is just confusing" way.

if downtown became zombiefied, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between who was and wasn't one in many cases

I like the show but am disappointed in the low level writing for a AMC production. Way too many nits to pick as been pointed out ITT.

On the plus side has been the zombie makeup. Not bad for a TV budget. Better than some movies.

Do they think nice older ladies are watching this show? Who did they think would be pleasantly surprised by that twist with the gang members? Are they really confused about their demographic or something? They've got zombies pulling flesh off people while trying to appeal to suburban American families? Young guys are watching this show, that's it.

That crap with the sisters in the boat, wtf.

Again, the idea of the custodian marshalling up his gangbanger buddies to fortify a nursing home and save the day isn't dumb by itself. It's actually really awesome.

But they handled it in like the worst way possible. Like the revelation that the dude was just acting hard because he was afraid of Rick makes very little sense because Rick had 3 dudes and "G" had 30. The initially scary dudes who kidnap Glenn and scream a lot and whatever was just dumb.

Plus as somebody noted Rick's plan had to be "pray that the dude is secretly either a pussy or a good guy" because on its face the idea of just strolling into the hideout with 3 dudes and shooting their way to Glen had roughly a 0% chance of success. I mean, the whole thing where they had an initial meeting and then another meeting was totally unnecessary, there could've been just the one negotiation. Why are they padding the 4th episode of a 6 episode season?

Also, during that entire sequence, you know what nobody was worried about? Zombies.

On the topic of names, I don't recall any Zombie movies that are big on names. I thought Zombieland poked fun at that with their city/state names they gave each other.

I finally caught up, was out of town the previous sunday. the sister storyline was lolbad. the fishing sequence sucked, to me it's as if the writers thought "lets throw in this scene so when the YBS (DUCWIDT) dies, that scene has more of an emotional impact on our audience! YEAH YEAH!" During that scene I turned to my woman and asked "uhhh are we supposed to feel sad here? err...?" I like the idea of racist guy loading up the truck with geeks and wtfpwning the camp revenge style. Dude was an ******* already, it's not unreasonable for him to want some payback

2 more episodes and i'm sure we will see racist guy next week, he's the most interesting char so far.

so far it seems officer friendly's whorebag wife has 2 or 3 expressions at best, i hope her face gets bitten off in the season finale.

This would be a really bad idea considering the cab and cargo area of this particular truck are not separated.

And yeah, the wife is a terrible actress. She either looks scared/worried, or terrified. Great range.

If this situation actually occurred, I think these would be my two states of mind as well.

After the first episode, I thought this had the potential to actually be a well produced and well written show. The second episode had so much stuff that was terrible that it immediately became clear that it was going to be a guilty pleasure at best. Surprised it took two more episodes for everyone to realize that.

As someone else said, the only "pro" so far is zombies. But I do likes zombies, so I'll at least finish out the season.

Finally caught up today. Not exactly Breaking Bad of Mad Men but definitely a guilty pleasure.

Well its official this show has dropped down to the level of "jericho dissapointment". My gf was watching last episode with me and said it was lame and why weren't there more zombies? She's not even a zombie fan. The hispanic/nursing home part was embarassing to watch.

I'm convinced the show will spiral into terrible subplots just like jericho did. I really hope it picks up though. I wont give up just yet. But like my gf said they pretty much hit the climax at the end of episode 2 with him finding his wife and kid. Been downhill since.

I just want to echo the worst part of the episode being the transition from guns standoff to old people home. THe grandma coming in and talking all mumbly made it impossible for me to understand the transition. It was just absolutely awful. It killed momentum for me. I was still buying into the episode and not realizing it was bad.

That grandma thing was awful.

Can someone spoilerize an answer to this simple question: Was the grandma thing in the comics like it was in the show?

I have started reading Sepinwall's blogs since certain people on these forums keep referring to them in various threads. I like his analysis however this week he really likes this episode and in particular likes the nursing home twist. wtf?
