+1, my thoughts exactly--the Mexican nurse gang subplot is just LOL stupid--that was some loco ****, esse!

I don't know why you are all ragging on this show. Compared to 99% of the rest of tv these days, this show is awesome.

Maybe because I watched it right after Boardwalk Empire. Nevertheless, I disagree with the 99% statement--imo, it's gotten steadily worse after an amazing premiere.

I was waiting for the blond chick to re-animate and bite her sister in the face, that would have been pretty epic

Lennie James's character spelled out how people "turn" in one of the early eps, and it's far from instant. If you were really expecting any of the victims of the attack to turn, you're not paying attention.

I imagine next ep will deal with them trying to figure out what to do with those bodies.

Just realised that the younger sister failed rule number 3 and 29:

Don't even want to think about plotholes etc since Im sure there are tons of it and don't care much.
The pilot was pretty awesome, but the last few episodes have really showed some poor writing. Like at the end, do we really need that guy to say "Oh, now I remember my dream and why I dug those holes." Would have been so much better ending with a closeup on his face with a look of realization. Just seems like the writers think the audience is stupid and needs to state the obvious. And it's making the show really bad.

Also agree with most everyone's criticisms. If the show doesn't improve, it's going to lose me pretty quick. /nit

Spoiler:
Also just read that the creator doesn't go into how the outbreak started and origins of the zombies. Maybe it's just me but not knowing how it started is going to eat at me as the show goes on (maybe that's the point).

You kind of answered your own question, but they didn't just say **** it and go home. They assumed Merle went back to camp so they chased after him. Not sure why they couldn't find another car to steal but obviously they needed to get back to camp because that's where they thought Merle went.

They only assumed he went back because they decided to go get the van to go home.

They went for the guns before they started hunting for him in the area, met the faux gang, then ???, then went to the van which was now gone.

There is a step missing which went from getting back the Korean guy and then just going to the van.

this show really hasn't changed much from the pilot imo.

Anyway pretty lol last episode for several reasons already mentioned, so I won't repeat them.

My prediction for next week, wife beater pops up as a zombie rather quickly and no one realizes its since his face was already ****ed up and his eyes were red. He will kill someone before they realize it. Hilarity will ensue as an Asian gang of ex rail road workers stumbled upon the camp. Someone will cry. Zombies will show up.

The survivalist aspect of the show is pissing me off. It's not like they're near Atlanta and the next city is 200 miles away. There are little towns every 7-10 miles in every direction and there are rural farm homes in every direction all over the place.

America is one big parking lot with cars everywhere. You grab a bunch of those cars, find some RVs probably as well, siphon gas whenever you can. Your supermarket is every empty house's pantry and your constantly foraging for non-perishables and misc. supplies.

Your indefensible position where zombies walk in undetected is lol. You don't need to be living in tents. It would seem you'd think to find a farmhouse surrounded by open land and make that your base of operations. Post a sentry on the roof 24hrs so you can see afar in all directions and you're safe.

And you're not sending your teams into downtown Atlanta to pick up a bag of guns and supplies. Your picking up a gun in every third house in Georgia and getting supplies from houses.

I think the only thing that'll save the show is if they take a small core group of interesting characters and take them on the road, traveling all around the country, encountering other pockets of survivors. And zombies, of course.

well that's what I though too tbh, but i don't know, doesn't make much sense. but having a whole bunch of zombies appear at once doesn't makes much sense anyway?!

I wonder where the writers will go with the dude that dug the graves because he saw what would happen in his dreams.
ie: can he actually dream future events? not too sure how much I like that plot.
The Walking Dead Quote

That last 'saw it in my dreams line' is indeed another good example of dumbing down the show.

Stuff I can live with to make the show work: Surviving in a hospitalbed unharmed / 30 zombies appearing all at once when there was only 1before?? / sudden 4minute rainfall to wash off zombieguts (this is pushing it tho) /etc etc

But not keeping guard if you're living in tents in closed woods is a different thing...

Bring in the black guy(forgot name)with his kid next ep plzzz..
The Walking Dead Quote
11-22-2010 , 03:23 PM
I wouldnt take that literally. He dreamt something, maybe it was indeed a zombie attack, but then the zombie attack happened and he leapt to the conclusion he dreamt that.

Its like if you dreamt about your house being bombed if you lived during The Blitz. That doesnt make you psychic if a bomb hits your house - you dreaming it and it happening has the same cause.

i'd head straight to the florida keys. guard one bridge and you are pretty much safe from zombies... unless they keys are infested, but you could probably sweep them pretty good. if **** gets real bad take a boat to the Caribbean.

i want a zombie in a waffle house uniform
The Walking Dead Quote

Yeah, like setting up permanent camp next to a major infested city is pretty dumb, you could easily head way more out into the wilderness and get plenty of supplies.

Also, wouldn't setting up perimeter defenses be pretty standard? Even something simple like cans on strings to make noise or something, zombies are stupid and would set them off.

Pretty much without exception, everyone has been really darn lax in their concern about the zombies in general, lots of wandering off alone, playing games, stupid BS. If things don't change after the zombie raid I officially want everyone to die 'cuz they deserve it.

And yeah the writers seem to love their stereotypes, only I guess when you use a non-PC one you gotta cover by making the gang bangers out to be sweet hearts.

Anytime the show tries to get all sentimental is when it sucks, when it's people fighting zombies and trying to survive it's good.
