Grenades are useful when there isn't a sports car with a loud alarm around.

Clearly you've never played Resident Evil .

Update: I still have not seen anything worse than that scene where they hacked a maggoty, decayed body apart with a fireaxe.

Not a big fan of the zombie genre and don't know anything about the comic books but this show has my attention. Thought both episodes were good and will continue to watch.

I expected them to get to the top of the ladder and drop the grenade down onto the group of zombies and send body parts flying every where. Would have made an awesome scene.

Not as good as first ep obv, but not bad.

Doesn't everyone know from farmers that you don't name the animals that are gonna be killed? Stupid to look through the guys wallet and so on before chopping him up.

Why is the black guy randomly sitting there alone with the piece of **** racist after he's already locked up, while everyone else is inside? I'd be hanging with the not ********s if I was him.

Still quite looking forward to the rest of the eps.

Can someone who has read the comics answer the following two questions; is the series over, and if so, what % of the way through the story are we?

Would be nice if this were answered in spoilers. A lot of people wouldn't want to know.

"we're living in a post-apocalyptic zombie armageddon where every day might be our last, where humanity might be extinct in a moment, where you will likely soon be eaten alive and then doomed to walk the earth as a soulless, mindless cannibal; I know, I'll take this opportunity to sneak up on you and scare you! hehe, ain't I a stinker!!"

Most of that episode was the worst thing the second episode of a series can be: filler. Hopefully the very linear 'we need X, how do we get it given zombies? I know, I'll give the audience some but not all of our plan, and away we go' cliche caper style doesn't become par for the series.

First ep was very good, this one was bad.

Spoiler:
Comics are not over. We're like on comic two out of almost 80 so far. At the end of #2 he makes it out of the city with the kid and reunites with his wife though it was only Glenn in the city scavenging, not a group.

Quote:
I know they are probably just following the comic book as close as possible so they are a little restricted in what they could do
Quote:
I really hope they don't keep pushing the "angry white rednecks" angle... if it's in the books I guess they have to.
Spoiler:
They seem to be following only the basic plot. There isn't any "angry white redneck" angle in the comics imo and the Michael Rooker character (racist) didn't exist in the comics so he might be a throwaway, dunno.

oh boy I was wondering if i was alone finding the acting in the first half completely awful, im glad i wasnt...

also a bit of nittery: what the **** at chopping off the zombie and getting splashed everywhere like the helmet but theres ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the sheriff's clothes... w/e i guess.

and that girl from prison break seems like such a natural slut (good)

Actually he fired twice at 2 or 3 of em. But yea, funny how every guy who shoots a gun is a pro all of a sudden.

This episode was great. Left me wanting more after the ending.

If zombies never existed then does that mean MJ never created Thriller and became a megastar? Mindboggling that the show failed to adress this.

I don't know that they were necessarily scavenging IN the department store. I got the impression that they went there to hide once Grimes started making all the noise in ep 1.

On a side note, the racist that was left on the roof is the same guy who played Rowdy Burns in Days of Thunder 20 years ago.

I'd heard from Sepinwall's podcast that this ep wasn't that good, and so I watched it with that in mind and it wasn't as bad as I expected.

I still enjoyed it, I am not at all connecting with the lead character, and why the department store people were to some extend unwelcome, it's nice to have somebody I can resonate with.

I also thought the second episode was a bit of a letdown, but not a huge one. I don't think this is going to be a great show, but I will still watch every episode because it's a goddamn series about zombie apocalypse, my favorite kind of apocalypse.

The partner/wife affair definitely still bothers me, though. They clearly assume he's dead, the removal of the ring on the necklace implied that. Still, the timeline really doesn't seem to work for it to be reasonable for them to be ducking into the woods to **** like two horny teenagers.

If the Jericho character returns the black guy from the roof is as good as dead. Sorry, but I think it's against the laws of horror to have two adult black males in a survival group. Nevermind the fact that he's already made some clumsy decisions.

I might have to see the scene again but it seemed that when the roof black guy kicked the bag over it didn't land close enough to the racist white guy. It makes sense that because they showed it get kicked they're setting up a vengeful return for the racist, but it could have also explained why once the key was lost that the black guy wouldn't see the bag on the crossover when he ran off.

I loved the scene with Glenn and Rick walking down the street getting checked out by the zombies. The makeup and costumes for the zombies are done so well and it was ultra tense when the zombies were walking 2 feet away from them.

Did the producers give a directive to the writers and actors to speed up the zombies? They seem like they've picked up some speed from episode 1 to 2.
