He's been in a lot of things, but he's never the main guy. Other than The Truman Show, the ones I can think of are Beautiful Girls, Pride and Glory, and Frequency. He seems to get "main character's best bud/partner" roles.

I just don't like the idea that this show implies that every military institution failed. They had enOugh bullets to kill 500k people in Ww1. With today's technology and a legit stronghold then walking biters don't pose that much of a threat even in large numbers.
The cold would be an asset... unless for some reason they can withstand Russian winters. Which, I guess when considering we can accept the dead coming back to life and walking, it's not much more of a stretch to suspend the belief that they couldn't withstand the cold...

Science says they'd freeze. The russies found German soldiers frozen drying ww2. They shouldn't be able to walk in that temperature. Plus the Russians are hardcore and spread out over a large area. I'd love for the series to end with Russia going around the world owning zombie herds.

I get most of the military falling but a lot of small pockets would survive and be unkillable.

I've been spending a little too much time thinking about zombies in the snow, at the least it would slow down their shuffling a lot.

I recognized him as the assistant coach from that hockey movie "Miracle".

They replay the episode from last week right before showing the new episode.

Ya, any sort of fortified military stronghold would be able to kill almost an unlimited supply of disorganized, slow moving non-weapon weilding 'tards.

What happens when you run out of ammunition? In large metropolitan areas there could be hundreds of thousands of zombies. It has to be virtually impossible to kill them all.

With bombs and grenades and rocket launchers and tanks and **** you could take out hundreds of thousands. And something tells me there is more than enough ammunition on various military bases around the country to kill every person in the country thousands of times over.

I'm thinking more a full blown military base, not just a few dudes with guns.

The only way the military wouldn't be able to contain a zombie outbreak is if it happened pretty much all over the world kinda simultaneously, or if it was of the 28 Days Later Variety, where transformation is almost instantaenously and the zombies have all their motor skills.

.
Especially isolated ones. In urban areas, yeah, I can see them getting overrun QUICKLY. That's where I think Hawaii and Russia have advantages. They're so many army guys in one areas but not enough population around them to pose a serious threat if fortified. Those Russians are fanatical about their military too, as much as the Americans. I know in Iraq the Americans built HUGE bases. I understand that if the outbreak is instant around the world then most bases are ****ed but these random outbreaks are random and some base is drawing a lucky number.

I mean, a couple of gassed up tanks could run havoc on the zombies. Just ****ing run them over by the thousands, go back to base, have your snipers and **** kill the ones around it, run back in, rinse repeat. Imagine a base surviving an outbreak that's relatively close to a city...they would wreck ****. Just camp there and continue to let them poor in since the zombies are attracted to sound.

These zombies are powerless against a locked front door.

Yes, it makes no sense that 99.9% of the population would have succumb to the plague, but that's the premise, go with it.

I still really look forward to new episodes of this, I just hope it stays interesting.
not that i'm defending the obv ****ups, but the mexican family DID survive the first several months, when apparently most didn't. so what makes you think they don't last a night? with just a little bit of thought (and they've had 2+ months of it) and 30 or so .357 rounds, and a car, i'm pretty sure a lot of able-bodied males could make a go of it.

especially when vast areas are apparently almost zombie free.

me too, me too.

actually discussed strategy with my mom today (which is hilarious because i've been randomly bringing up zombie strategy for years now with her and because of this show now she's interested) and *almost* directed her to this thread, then i remembered this is oot. **** that.

especially if they have blades, which i'd assume they'd have en masse. with training and disciple, 40 guys could take down a ******** of zombies and then just retreat back into the hatch.

me and you could run **** post-apacalypse. i already quoted the town of Hana on the east end of Maui to my wife as a perfect spot post WWZ. isolated, lush rainforest separated from the main part of the island by a huge ****ing mountain and miles and miles of forest.

Spoiler:
Just saw a preview for the last show of the season, apparently the CDC guy says that France was the last to go down and then someone else says something about no safe havens anywhere/human race is fffed

kinda interested on what is said in the episode cause it could mean no matter what our group does in the show the human race can't survive due to a small gene pool.

MOD NOTE- As per debated policy, you're not breaking the rules by not putting this in spoilers, but it does make you a dick. Dick.

First paragraph inspires hope, as if the move is a reaction to the problems with the first season.

Gets weird after that though.
