they're pretty badass, clearly. they didn't flinch in real life with the explosion 60 feet behind them and fiery debris raining around them.

in the interest of beating a dead horse, my problem with the plane crash scene was that the black and white snippets throughout the season were so clearly trying to make us think it was something directly related to walt - they even showed someone putting what looked exactly like walt's glasses in a bag marked 'evidence', just to have the resolution be 'well someone on one of the planes had the same glasses and they landed in walt's yard...not our fault if you hastily jumped to the conclusion that they were walt's'. that's an ******* move.

watching some of season 2 to pass the time

Walt: "Castor beans"
Jesse: "So, what are we going to do with them? Are we just gonna grow a magic beanstalk? Huh? Climb it and escape?"
Walt: "We are going to process them into ricin."
Jesse: "Rice 'n Beans."
Walt: "Ricin. It's an extremely effective poison." "

the way jesse said "rice 'n beans" almost made me **** my pants

That's his way of quitting. Then, he moves on to rationalizing it (as showed by the great speech at the gym. Am I the only one who was in full agreement with him? Bunch of whiny kids).

I thought he just wanted to know what a huge stack of burning money smelled like. Little did I know guilt was involved. Thanks, now I wont be so lost.

2 things about the season opener were terrible : Walt's speech about the plane crash, and the much talked about truck explosion.

FAIL.

Walt's assembly speech was awesomely funny. The truck explosion was remarkable in the detail. Notice how the hitman shot a hole in the gas tank to let most of the gas drain out. Now the gas vapors in the tank are primed for an explosion. IRL the gas tank would never explode if it was full of gas.

I don't understand why poeple itt think there is some big metaphor about the brothers. There is no metaphor. They are to bad ass mofos on a mission to kill Heisenberg. We know this has been coming for a long time. Frankly one of the things that bugged me about season two was the lack of serious threat from the corporate HQ of the Mexican drug cartels.

IRL, gas tanks very, very rarely explode. They require a narrow range of balance between air and gas, and that can't just be guessed at by shooting a hole in a gas tank and thinking 'i'll wait 15 seconds and that'll be about right'.

A) it wasn't necessary from the bad guys' standpoint for the gas tank to explode. They just needed to burn the truck.

B) With gas leaking out of a hole in the tank AND a raging inferno right next to the tank, it does not seem implausible to me that the gas tank would explode when the gas vapor to oxygen ratio inside the tank passed through the danger zone.

C) This is a friggin violent TV show. To nitpick about the likelyhood of the gas tank exploding in real life seems ridiculous.

If you think this show isn't realistic enough, just watch 24 for about 5 minutes and it'll put things in perspective.

also lit cigarettes catching gasoline vapors on fire is so cliche and improbable. how can anyone even watch this show anymore?

interesting how LOST and BB had Tenerife references this week.
