Chicken transformed into blue meth.

Great episode. Loved the beginning - it seems Los Pollos Hermanos is much more involved in the meth trade than was previously revealed.

Could've done without the last line from xszkayllar. When she was telling her story there, I already assumed that she thinks Walt is connected to all this seeing as she isn't even buying any of his BS. And thought she was using that as a way to shame Walt in front of Marie (and probably Hank & Walt Jr., she knows that Marie won't be able to keep a secret and it's going to get out eventually), and make Walt spend his money for something good. Just seemed very un-BB like to spell it all out like that.

Otherwise pretty good ep though, Jesse's in for a world of hurt though, maybe Walt too. Interesting that as Jesse was hatching his little scheme to sell off the excess blue, Walt was cleaning off the black mark on one of the tanks, and it basically looked like a bullet hole in Walt's forehead in the reflection. But then he cleaned it off, so maybe he'll be ok after all?

I thought the car scene early in the ep where was Scialiar was asking Walt is they were in danger was a nice callback to Hank's shootout in the parking lot (where he was in danger). He didn't think so either, after getting that phone call, or at least was unsure. Any other good **** we missed? I'm usually not watching super closely the 1st time around, and haven't re-watched any eps from this season so this thread usually helps.

Great episode as usual. I want more of Gus tho.

just watched it on dvr and actually ff'd through the pollos commercial at first because i thought it was real

saw skyler's "i learned from the best line" coming a mile away, and felt that scene went on a bit too long

What's everyone's interpretation of Walt's speedy drive on the highway? If it was a brief moment of suicidal panic, why did it come directly after Gus promised Walt that their contract could be open-ended and he could make $15 million a year for as long as he wanted? And if that meeting instilled Walt with a feeling of power and control, what did he get out of letting his car go out of control? Was he tempting fate for some reason? I usually get these scenes but I must be having an off night.

I want to like Jesse's character, but he keeps ****ing everything up.

I'm a bit hazy on that myself. Unless - if he knows he doesn't have the stomach to say no to 15 million per year; Then it's as good as getting forced. Hence the feeling of being out of control. At least that's what i think. And what's more: I think Walt knows that even if it's called an open ended offer... It's an offer he can't refuse imo because I don't think Gus will let the guy (who makes him ~186 million anually) quit out of the kindness of his heart.

Yeah. He's dead weight and an accident waiting to happen. His line:
"What's the point of being an outlaw if you gotta pay taxes?" made me LOL tho

I thought the meeting did the opposite. Walt figured out what Gus was up to, but he is basically stuck now. There was an implied threat in Gus' offer, that the protection Walt and his family enjoy will disappear when Walt stops working for Gus.

Walt driving his car into the oncoming lane was his attempt to take his fate out of Gus' hands imo.

This, plus a just a way to try to release a lot of other stuff, like frustration or anger at the realization of what he's become. Sure, he's already realized those kinds of things in the past, but this moment was worthy, too. One more realization of "wow, I'm really locked into this. Something that used to be against my morals and maybe still is somewhat." People can have lots of those on their paths.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more it seems like Jesse's days are severely numbered. It would be bold/ballsy for the show to kill off one of its leads, but that wouldn't surprise me at all, especially as a way to show just how dark Walter's path is now. At the end of last season he let someone die; at the end of this one he might be complicit (or implicit) in the death of his surrogate son.

Thank God those Mexican twin caricatures are out of the show, they were such a lame gimmick. First completely good episode in a long while. I want Skylar dead, her character is boring me senseles.

All in all - decent(ish) show with some interesting characters and non-horrible writing for most of the time. Too bad the comedic elements have been gradually lessened and now only exist in the scenes involving the lawyer. I want more of the 'dealing meth is fun, yo' extravaganza and less off the 'DRUGS. RUIN. LIVES.' lessons of morality.

In a perfect world this would be the type of show I'd watch and recognise it as decent, but ultimately mediocre. It just reminds me how completely **** most of television shows are that Breaking Bad seems looks like a flawless blue crystal next to the cloudy crack peddled these days.

yeah, I'm really losing sympathy for him because of his stupidity - now he's trying to sift off an extra $15-20K worth of meth - giving him an extra 5K or so - and all the risk that goes with it.

I'm really wanting to smack him.

What did hank say to his partner when he was getting him to lean in close so he could prank him?

Awesome episode.
Walt is in a lot of ****, I dont know how he could possibly come out alive out of all of this without moving and abandon his family.
05-17-2010 , 01:18 PM
not a chance that Jesse dies imo... everyone said that hank has to die and it didn't happen... this isn't the sopranos, not a single main character has died in 2 1/2 seasons. I think Ted will eventually get the axe though.
