Oh wow, I didn't think El Pollo Loco was a real chain. That's pretty crazy.

In the show it is something like Los Pollo Hermanos, not El Pollo Loco. The two seem very similar in couple ways though.

Got 1 just down the street from me. Never go there though. I would if they had some cross-promotional tie-in with BB and EPL. That would be awesome.

Good lord I owe OOT such a debt for getting me into so many amazing shows I never would have even heard about. This show is fantastic. Cranston is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors on TV

el pollo loco is like KFC or another chain. los pollos hermanos looks like one of those random shack mexican places they have all over the southwest. in tucson we had one called "los betos", which had awesome food and was open almost 24/7.

The show got really boring for me in the middle of the Season but I am fully back on board right now.

Spoiler:
I was very surprised Walt let Jane die.

Except for the fact they explicitly mentioned it was a chain.

Breaking Bad is such a well plotted show. They get to places that seem illogical if you just know the conclusion, but make perfect sense once you see how it happens.

a regional chain. el pollo loco is national. the example I gave of los betos is a "chain" in tucson too

Really interesting episode - not so much OMG moments, but a lot of dramatic ones.

One element here is there are a lot of fortuitous breaks (ironic given title) for Walt. Things seem to somehow work out for Walt - they get away from Tuco, Tuco dies, Tuco's father the eye-witness will not say a word. Now Jane conveniently dies and another problem solved. Just an observation.

Walt's sloppy lies bother me - no diapers at 3 stores?? The traffic on I-40 was mess because of an accident? He's at Walmart right now, but bar sounds in the background? Not good with an already very suspicious wife.

I actually thought the Walt showing the baby the money was a little creepy tbh. The baby represents such pureness and happiness in the family - then you interface that with drug money. Just emphasized the 2 extremes in Walt's life to me.

i agree but this show is written well enough that things like this won't be ignored. It could be the trigger that finally pushes Skyler into having the affair.

This is precisely why I loved that scene. There's 1.2 million bucks, essentially stained with the blood of numerous people, and he's telling his baby that he did it for her. It was a little chilling to me.

regarding jane

Spoiler:

some people have mentioned theres a chance she isnt dead

Q&A - Krysten Ritter (Jane Margolis)

The actress discusses falling in love in real life and on television, going to heroin school and witnessing her own death in AMCtv.com's exclusive interview.

Q: Did you know your character would die when you signed onto the show?

A: Yes. I didn't know beat for beat what was going to go down, I just knew it was going to be good! People were like, "Oh my God they killed you!" But I feel like if you're going to go out, you should go out with a bang.

I think she is referencing what happened last episode which was imo the most powerful scene of the serie

After reading all the speculating going on here I hate they shot the body bag scene (and the other foreshadowing scenes). I'd just let things happen at their own time.

Ep 12 was really good. As for the final scene I'm pretty sure Walt will take off quickly and grab the money with him. Also considering that the conversation in the bar triggered him to go and see Jesse I think it's very possible same kind of thoughts came to Jane's father's mind and he might not want to wait till tomorrow after all but go and talk to Jane right away.

Awesome show, finale's gonna be epic.

Decided to check out this movie, just finished watching. Wow, great performance by Sean Nelson. Loved the end scene.

It's obviously closer to el pollo loco than a mexican restaurant. Mexican "shack" 24/7 places don't specialize in chicken, they don't have a corporate atmosphere, they don't have 'pollo' in the name.

I'm really hungry for Adalberto's right now. Hate you guys. And Pollo Campero > any other chicken joint imo.

Re: the money laundering.

The cash hiding in the wall space & the ~$450k cash he gives to Jesse is pre or post laundered?

I didnt think that the laundering process would involve Hank handing over cash then receiving cash back? (always thought cash would transformed to legit business income or something)
05-28-2009 , 11:15 PM
Money has not been laundered iirc.

lol laundering is the process of converting the money from all that cash to a bank account or something.

only thing I'm confused about is Walt really should take care of laundering the money and THEN pay Jesse. He should give Jesse all that cash to just have in his house and incase he gets caught or something. But then again, its hard enough for walt to launder his own money so.
