And they both end up nearly simultaneously accepting their respective tragic roles, that of junkie loser and badass mother****er.

Run vs Stay Out of My Territory vs I'm a Blowfish

I'm a Blowfish wins imo

This show reminds me of (apocryphally?) bad ass NFL lines that would tell the opponents what plays they were going to run.

The show's creators just telegraph what's coming but nobody cares because they execute so ****ing well.

My two favorite characters on TV atm are both named Walter. They both like math and science

I love all the symbolism and foreshadowing in this show, it really is bad ass.

I liked how the dot of the rear view mirror was like a gunshot in the middle of the head of one of Gus' goons while they drive Jesse out. Right after the imagery, Jesse asks "Where are we going?". Maybe that one's a stretch but it got me thinking Jesse was for sure gonna be taken out and executed when I saw it:

and then he wasn't executed. Nice symbolism.

They did the same for Walt a few episodes back though and obviously he isnt going to be executed. I wonder if there is something to it or they are both just accidents.

Within the next 3 episodes:

Hank: hey Gomez you f*****g ****, I'm out of the hospital and just checking in. ... By the way, do me a favor and put a tail on Walt for a few days- I know, I know. But you know he's like the least street smart guy I've ever met and apparently he's taken huge money off some underground card game. I just want to make sure he's not in any danger."

the best thing about this show is how nothing from the past gets left alone. i mean, we even have the intro featuring the hooker and the kid on the bike. gilligan and co make it look like everything was so planned out. i'm not surprised when the smallest of characters gets brought back in somehow

btw i saw on carson daly interview with BC a few weeks ago, the girl that speaks in the auditorium after the plane crash (I think ep 1 of season 3) is bryan cranstons irl daughter

Regarding the final part of the last episode, I read it as Walter realizing that he is to valuable to Gustavo Pollos so if he messes with his crew nothing is gonna happen to him. If jesse killed them he was gone. It´s Walter using his leverage to once again save jesse´s ass.
Plus he lied to jesse earlier in the episode, he may not be a killer but he has already killed.

Noticed this too and forgot to post about it.

You also saw Walt, when they did this to him, scrubbing the smudge away - perhaps him narrowly escaping death. I say this dude dies next episode, but I have no idea how.

Walt didn't want Jesse to kill. Great ending, looking forward to the finale.

The way the wrters are showing the progression of the drug game is interesting. This season was a lot about the erosion of one's conscience. Walt succumbing to the temptation to continue producing, Skylar's abhorrence moving to a reluctant acceptance, Marie's acceptance of help from what she considers ill gotten money. I think in the future Skylar will come to embrace the lifestyle and what it provides. Also the last 2 finales ending in deaths of increasing violence showing that regardless of how professionally one plays, the ultimate result whether user or manufacturer is death. Great show.

While these points are probably both true, mostly Walt didn't want Jesse doing it because Jesse would have surely been killed.

uhm, so you are agreeing with me?
that´s basically what I said

After watching some past episodes, I think Hank will become a criminal along with Marie. She already steals stuff herself and is very gossipy. Marie also said in one episode that the DEA is not welcome anymore. Walt is now the provider of his entire family.

I think this will be a main theme in season 4. In season 1 and 2 it was Hank who broke bad, this season it has extended to his wife. Next season Hank will really be put to the test... 100% he finds out Walt is Heisenberg.

Even though hank has been the person most true to his moral compass, ( as ****ed up as it may be with his anger issues,) but can he really find it in his heart to turn in his own brother and sister-in-law even though they made possible what will likely be close to a full recovery for him?

I do not know spoilers or anything like that, but I´d be very surprised if they take that direction; that is Hank willingly knowing Walt is the biggest meth cook in recent history and being ok with that and not doing anything about it just because he throws a hundred thousand his way.

That would actually be nonsensical.

People have compromised their values for cash money every single day since the beginning of time.

It's the way the world works and appropriate fodder for the show.
