Loved the fact that Arnold Rothstein has always been made out to be such a big fish in this show and then we see that Mellon has to be prompted to name him showing us that relative to the really big players he's insignificant.

On a side note-I don't understand how anyone is actually going to prove AR has ownership of that distillery since it was basically an oral contract between himself and Nucky who received it on an oral contract from Mellon.

Except Gyp's lackeys already know that Masseria pulled his support so the order for the hit could be coming down from him for all they know

Given that Tonino also knows this, when Nucky and Eli find him in the mansion, they simply have to proposition him to off Gyp in exchange for his own life

I just assumed that the two guys realized Gyp was insane and it was bet to let him die, or they were in on whatever deal Tonino got.

A professional soldier armed to the teeth getting the drop on some untrained gangsters is unrealistic?
.
Just to add to these points, we all knew Richard was gonna go all vigilante. They've shown his gun skills well this season, what happens when he does get angered, and his arsenal at the end of last week's episode.

Also, not just a professional soldier, but a very good marksman. Richard's reaction times and accuracy will be a hell of a lot faster and more precise than some guys who have way less skill and experience with a weapon. Richard has actually faced death an has been in hand to hand battles, it's very possible that most of Gyp's men have never been in anything like that.

Mellon saying that AR took over it would probably be enough. If not, there is always the most valuable person in the world to testify.

That's after he killed gyp, we never saw what he was given to kill Gyp.

Except he knows that Masseria is no longer backing Gyp. He also knows that Gyp beat his cousin's head in with a shovel. The only way out for Tonino at this point is to tie up the loose ends for Nucky.

whatever he was given he can take by killing nucky and eli with gyp and his men... and this is ignoring that he is going to try to kill gyp in front of two men with shotguns guarding him.

Gyp has no muscle. He lost the town when he lost Masseria's support.

There's a way to disagree with people and not get banned, and then there's what Anon Help just did.

The Harrow scene is basically the low-fi version of the Matrix lobby fight and is obviously a lot of style over substance, and I am 100% ok with that because it was awesome as hell and exactly what I wanted to see.

Gyp is now a man who is in charge of 2 men. Nucky is substantially more powerful.

You're still assuming that the two men weren't in on the deal, which is a bad assumption.

Nucky has the entire police department, he has all of Chalky's black gangsters, he has friends in New York. Mickey is apparently running a distillery in AC, who runs that?

Nucky couldn't find enough people to kill 9 guys? Also begs the question of why Nucky Owen after Masseria instead of just taking out Gyp.
There was like a 5 min montage at the beginning of episode showing how gangsters kill each other.

I re-watched conversation between Gyp and Masseria where they talk that Masseria gave him 43 men (exactly) and Gyp have left 31 of Masseria men + 9 of his own.
Now we know that Gyp lost 12 of Masseria men, but we never knew how many Gyp's man have been killed.

Its funny I just rewatched parts of No Country for Old men and she was sitting there scowling killing my boner just like she does in every scene in this show. Hopefully she wont make a comeback next season. She just needs to go imo.

Unless Gyps men died at a much much much higher rate than Masseria's (and judging from the harrow scene I suppose this is possible, but not likely) we're still talking less than 20 guys. Maybe 15. It's not much compared to what Nucky should be able to muster.

I was loving all the tommy gun drive by action at the beginning. Capones men just killing it. That scene with the mayor and the press was funny too.

Capone gunning folks down with a smile on his face and a cigar in his mouth was clearly the best part of this episode.

****ing loved it, really good season finale. Just such a good show.

Every scene with the press on this show feels out of a musical or something. Really broad and kinda corny.

um yeah. At what point in "No Country for Old Men" were you getting a boner to begin with?

The best thing about last night's episode is that I feel comfortable waiting 9 months for the next season. If they ended it like they did last week's episode, I'd be pretty tense about it.

Oski,

You seem confused. Female characters are only for boners, so if they don't give them it's a big problem with the show.
