Well, I guess it's even score for them now, with both of their affairs dead due to Nucky's business.
Yeah, this. Surprised no one has mentioned the baby or the Van Alden/Capone thing this week. Pretty sure we do get to see an "historical event" this season due to this.

I was entertained by Gyp more than most apparently until this episode. As much as I loved the General hat thing last week and wished he would wear it until he died, this week it just felt like beating a dead horse. Ok, we get it. He's going to fly off the handle and whack whoever says anything questionable. Only way it was really necessary in this episode is if the other guy turns on him leading to his death. (Still holding to my theory that he comes after Nucky's family and Teddy gets him with that knife he's been hiding.)

This sounds like what they're leading up to now in one of the storylines:

I guess we'll know if Sawicki double-crossed Owen if Sawicki is still alive in the next episode.

Did Sawicki ever deal with/interact with Luciano in previous episodes? I can't remember.

Re: Boardwalk Empire: Season 3

Most of Chalky's scenes seem out of place or incongruent with the central plot of this show. This episode Chalky's meet with Nucky left a sour of enough taste in Chalky's mouth that he could possibly play a role in the resolve over this war (either for or against Nucky), with providing muscle ofc.

Def think Sawicki gave up Owen since we see Owen dead and not Sawicki. Also think that Richard will start working for Nucky and go H.A.M on everyone.

Re: Boardwalk Empire: Season 3

Its possible that he is dead but just isnt shown because no one cares about him. It takes away from the scene quite a bit if they are both in the crate.

Def still possible that he is the one who sold nucky and owen out but i wouldnt base it off of that one scene.

Re: Boardwalk Empire: Season 3

I didn't get the point of the "extended" scene at the end with Slater and Margaret.

I mean I think it was supposed to illustrate that Margaret is gonna think that Nucky arranged his death out of jealousy because Doyle kinda sorta caught them in a compromising position. I just don't see why that scene couldn't have played out normally as it happened. There wasn't anything spoilerish that would necessitate an end of show reveal, and Margaret likely woulda thought Nucky had a hand in it regardless.

Unless it's some goofy level that's supposed to make us think Nucky actually did do it. But clearly that's just ridiculous, so I dunno.

Purely artistic imo. Ending this way adds a lot more emotion than playing it out chronologically.

It's kind of starting to sink in that I'm not going to see Owen on screen ever again. Now I'm sad, but still not as sad as when Jimmy died. A little piece of myself died with him that day.

Nucky is treating him like a "boy" more and more and less like a partner/co worker etc etc

This and it makes why her reaction to Owen so "overwhelming", if she was just ****ing him and thinking of running away with him she can probably hold it in ( Shes Maintained a straight face during hard times before) but now she out right lost it.
