I have a white Ping Vantage (is Vantage right? I think it is). I have had it for at least 3 years now. It's dirty for sure, but not to the point where it bothers me any. And I really like the white look.

As far as names go, this is the first bag I have had that didn't have mine on it since high school. Only reason I didn't get it done is because it came straight from a Ping reps trunk as one of his samples. I personally think you need to be in the business or have a low low HC (like 4 and below) to get away with your name on your bag. But I feel the same way about wearing JL clothing or similar, so take that with a grain of salt.

Just be happy you dont wear two gloves...my farmers tan extends from wrist to elbow...my hands are ghostly white. It is awful.

You are wearing your glove too much if you can tell the difference between your arms and hands. In a round of golf, lets say a 4 hour round, your glove really isn't on but for a small percentage of that time. Lets say you shoot 90. Well, maybe 50-55 of those shots came with a glove on (unless you putt with a glove, in which case cut that **** out right now), and even at a minute each (which is probably like double what it actually is), that is less then one hour. So less then 25% of your time during a round of golf comes with a glove on.

Even practicing a fair amount wouldn't cause that noticeable of a difference. I would guess it would take multiple hours a day to get an obvious difference.

My golfing buddy told me on one of our first rounds together to get into the habit of removing the glove after every shot to cut down on sweatiness and to prevent the tanning issue. It seemed like a bother at first but it's all about routine now.

I'll be golfing and be on hole 6 or whatever and realize I haven't taken my glove off yet (not even to putt).

Taking the glove off between shots just seems like such a hassle. And half the time I leave it on when I'm putting.

I wear my sock tan line (just footies socks) like a badge of honor.

lol, I doubt your sock tan line could beat mine.

Also, when I was 17-18 I worked at an amusement park (climbing the rope ladder that everyone thinks is rigged). 8 hrs a day in the sun x 5 days a week = worst farmer's tan of all time.

Sounds like a challenge. Let's see everyone's feet ITT! Mine were worse when I worked as a cart boy during the summers here in FL, but they are getting back to the glory days pretty quick now that I have moved back.

^ that's how mine looked in July. It's not nearly as bad now though since the weather has cooled and I'm not golfing 3x/week.

edit: I mean if it was July and someone showed me that pic I'd think it was my leg.

I'm same. Glove is always off when bag is on my shoulder.

As for bag -- I like the idea of my name on it, idk why.

I wear two gloves...and once they go on to start the round, they do not come off until the round is over. I used to take them off to putt, but that **** got annoying very quickly...and if anything, I have noticed more consistency in my short game by keeping them on the entire round. Im averaging 33 putts per round this season (37 rounds), and have putted better now than I ever had.

Do you really think the glove takes that much of your feel away with the putter?

P.S.- Your foot is what my hand looks like right after I finish a round...although I dont think it is that bad even in the peak of the summer...that is a legendary tan line.

BTW, playing in a night scramble on Saturday. I think (hope) we use glow in the dark balls. I'll post a TR when it's over.

I personally couldn't putt with a glove. I think it is a significant loss in feel. But mainly, it just looks bad (and leaves you with ridiculous tans apparently). And my number one rule is to always look the part.

I just don't see the hassle unless you are playing by yourself mostly. I hit my tee shot, take my glove on before I get back to my cart and stick it in my back pocket. When I get to my ball I get a yardage, throw the glove on, grab a club and hit it. Then glove off. I don't mean this in a derogatory way, but I guess if I hit it more times, and hit multiple shots in a row without having to wait on people, I would take my glove off less. But even then I would have to rotate gloves. I can't hit more then 10 balls or so on the range without taking my glove off to keep it from soaking through with sweat.

And, thanks! My tan lines are a fav topic with my family. Unfortunately, the rest of my body besides legs from knee down, arms from bicep down, and head are basically the same color as my feet. I tried to spend some time at the beach this summer but I burn sooooo fast even with sunscreen it didn't work well. Naked manbearpig is not a pretty sight.

Playing in one of these in two weeks. 9 hole scramble during the late afternoon, dinner, then 9 holes at night with glow balls. Should be fun.

I think 10 is around my max as well.

For those that don't sweat into your gloves, wtf do you wear a glove for? I only wear a glove to keep the club from slipping. I guess I could see maybe preventing blisters, but imo that's what calluses are for.

The only grips I can play without a glove are cords, and they tear my hands up. At least that was the case the last time I tried them, maybe 7-8 years ago. When I lived up north for a bit I played with no glove some, but in the south its a no go.

Still says my order is "processing." When I checked out they estimated shipping to be between the 23rd and 26th, so its probably going to be awhile.

When I'm playing a tournament, I always use dish detergent and a scrub brush the night before on the grips. I always have a fresh towel just for my face and hands, and whenever there's a water jug, I run water over my hands and dab them dry with the new towel. The new towel is to prevent any slippery grime from reapplying itself to my hands. I still use a glove through all this.

I use them for grip...I have a baseball grip, so having a tacky grip for my hands to stick to is paramount. I dont think this is the same reason for sweat, as non-sweaty hands on a regular grip is not the same to me.

Does anyone use stick-um or something tacky for their golf grips? Is this legal?

The culprit here generally isn't the glove, it's the grips

Took jtrout up on his offer to buy some balls. Shipped him money on Wednesday, he shipped the balls same day, and they were delivered today.

A+ transaction, would do business again.
