sooo vodka for breakfast is probably out since I had it for lunch, dinner and a midnight snack today.

alarm goes off at 710am. tee time is 845am. hopefully I actually wake up and get in the hottub but if not I hope I get up in time to hit up the driving range extremely hungover.

****ing vacations.

hard to lay off the late night drinking in favor of the 845am 1st tee box when everyone in a beach house is drinking and jumping off balconies into the pool...

Go to a sporting goods store and buy a pair before your next round. It's amazingly comfortable. I've got a couple pairs. One is BCG, the other is Russell. Looks like both are polyester/spandex blends of 84/16 and 90/10.

If you aren't spending at least $10 on one pair you probably aren't getting the right pair.

dri-fit Nike shorts under baggy dri-fit adidas shorts with a cutoff nike dri-fit shirt under a regular nike dri-fit shirt is how I normally roll...then the regular shirt comes off bc I ****ing hate having sleeves annoy me...

down here tho they expect you to wear a collar shirt...****'s lasted exactly 2 holes both times..#1 and #10. meh

Once you buy almost any type of dry-fit material shirt or shorts, you'll never buy anything else. It's worth it to splurge on one pair of $35 shorts. I just got two pair of Chaps Golf shorts for like $30. I may be able to find them cheaper online somewhere, but whatever.

For shirts, I prefer Nike, Greg Norman, and Cutter and Buck for the best dry-fit material. I gained a little weight and the Nike stuff doesn't fit me as well anymore, but the material is amazing and it never sticks to me.

Dry fit shorts really are the nuts, I can get some pretty nice ass sweat going on the course but with compression shorts + dry fit I'm usually quite comfortable. Have a 6 or 7 pair rotation of snake eyes, oakley, nike and ashworth that I regularly wear. I like them all, the oakleys are probably my least favorite feeling ones but I like their fit.

My little 6650 yard 73.4/138 hosted a US Am qualifier. +2 was the medalist, +6 got in in a playoff.

4 of the top 10 were members at my club, though only one got in unfortunately. It's a tough little donald ross track. Greens are very fair but quite tough if you don't know them.

Was pretty shocking to see all the WDs and whatnot. It's a fun course, and I'm glad to see it hold its own.

So I'm a single right now on a nice but busy golf course. I caught up to a twosome of hipsters that are following a twosome of older guys who are behind a few foursomes. So I can't skip ahead. Been 3 holes an these guys won't even acknowledge me, even on the same tee box.

What's my play?

I do have a twosome closing on me from behind, will probably be here in 2 holes at the most.

I guess the right question is how do I mess with these hipster douches without getting thrown off the course.

I went the practice route on the last hole. Guys behind me will be here soon. Just a bad spot with b2b 330 holes

I had the most miserable round last week, I'm behind an old couple who shoot a
combined total of 400, they never offered me to go through or join them, they in fact have a bunch of foursomes in front of them who r playing at the same level as these couple or even worse.

Theres no 3some tho... Twosome in front and twosome behind. Id ask the twosome behind if they want to hit along out of courtesy. Youre not getting anywhere any faster so why make them wait? At least youll have people to talk to between shots

My home course is fairly short, but tough too -- 6571, 73/146

I'd imagine that's like top 1% difficulty for that course length, no?

Probably. I mean I'm hitting 3 iron off a lot of tees, so it doesn't play quite as short as the yardage indicates. Lots of positioning off the tees, and tough greens.

Putting: mostly left hand or right hand? (For a right handed player)

Left hand low or left handed? I don't know anyone who does the latter.

What I meant is which hand is more dominant and which one has more pressure on the club.

I ask because recently I've moved to a left hand dominant approach and it seems to be helping.

I occasionally play with a guy who putts one handed - and not facing the ball, but facing the hole. It's weird.

It depends on the person. Tiger uses a right hand dominant approach, but Steve Stricker (one of the few people Tiger has been known to go to for putting advice) is a left hand dominant putter.

There's probably a better way to determine which hand is dominant but try 10 15 footers using one hand and compare the results/see which hand feels better to you. Which ever hand you decide is dominant is the hand you want to put more pressure on the club. I've heard 7/10 grip pressure before is good? I'm a righty, am left hand dominant in putting and use probably a 6/10 grip pressure for putting.
