I know, doesn't make much sense.

I have a Scotty that I really like, but often revert back to my good old trusty Odyssey if my putting is really off.

I'd use one putter with super stroke with in 10 feet, and original grip from further out

As mentioned in another thread, I'm not a big fan of the Scotty grip...but just can't get myself to get it regripped. OTOH, my odyssey has the GOAT grip.

Backup for when you chuck one into a lake after too many 3 putts?

Some legendary golfers carried 2 putters in big money matches...

Regarding the Jim Furyk vid, I often hear teachers/pros advocating the "same swing, different club" method of chipping, but I seem to never see any tour players actually practicing this method on the course.

Seems like the top guys all have a favorite club that they use almost exclusively around the greens.

Hard to get pros to try something new I guess, if you have perfected your own way no point in changing, this video is for more of the weekend golfer.

Big break Mexico:

Spoiler:
the results of tonight's episode were unexpected - I can't believe Brent punted so hard from 95 yards. Shows the importance of those par saves from taylor on the first two holes.

I started watching the episode fully expecting to see a jay and Brent final - and I think it would have been the most entertaining.

Pulling for Taylor in the final though. It'll likely be a fun match.

Pros didn't start off as pros and this advice has been around for a loooooong time.

Yeah, been discussed before. It makes sense if you carry 15 illegal clubs but it's really hard to waste a club with the 14 club rule. I don't see how it's worth it. I can swing a club fine left-handed and play on a course with tons of bushes and shrubs but it's rare that I'm left with a shot left-handed that I can't do something with right-handed. In some cases I just take a drop and a 1-stroke penalty because I've played that game and lost many, many times where you get to your ball and think "I can lob this off this tree root over a tree 20 yards ahead of me and onto the green - no problem" only to get myself into more trouble. Just take your medicine - take a drop and play for bogey.

Just read via twitter, the PGA is going to let the fans choose the hole location for #15 on sunday. They are giving us four choices. I think its a great idea. Thoughts?

I think this is a great idea by the PGA, but I'm also a huge advocate for more business-to-consumer engagement.

I'll wait til NXT tells me which hole location is most favorable for Tiger and I'll vote on that one.

Yeah, they should do this more often. It can't hurt and the casual fan has even more of a reason to tune in.

The PGA should go global with their tournament. Bring a major to Asia, New Zealand, Aus, , etc... would be awesome and it would stop being the clear 4th major.

I've told my wife I'd like golf lessons for my birthday. Should I have anything prepared or specifically know before I go to my first one? Just show up in my normal golf garb or is that weird?

I'm a 30 hdcp but seriously feel every time I step onto the course I could shoot a 90

I would say bring all of your stuff, although the first day will probably only consist of working on your grip and stance.

If you are a 30 handicap and feel like you could shoot 90, it probably has a lot to do with your initial set up and getting consistent ball contact imo. (but I haven't seen your swing/game, so I don't know - I just find that to be a fairly common issue with most high cappers)

Sorry to derail, but isn't Nate the dude that either showed us his ass in his back yard in board shorts or the dude that busted his ceiling fan lamp taking a vid from indoors? (oh god, or both?)

You're talking about natediggity? Doesn't sound like him.

Facts about nate:

Late '30s
Buffalo Bills fan
Arian Foster hater
Comes into threads a lot and judges a large group of people for liking or enjoying something. AKA "wet blanket syndrome".

But he's pretty harmless. Never gets into any major fights or does anything majorly stupid so I don't see him doing the 2 things you mentioned.

I carry my bag and I'm positive it's got way too much **** in there. Just too lazy to clean it out. Got old unopened packages of Nutter Butters in there and balls and rain gear and all that. I should probably get a small carry bag like my neighbor has. Looked a lot easier.
