Has anyone done the Smolov? I'm thinking about doing it for my squats and wanted to hear about the gains/turrrible it was

I did the intro cycle a while back (starting at post #417 in my log)

Went from 365 -> 415 1rm @165bw, then derped around with oly lifting and lost all my gainz.

I went through the intro cycle starting on post 666 in my log. I did it, but probably wouldn't do it again unless I hit a huge wall/plateau. The following is my opinion on it. I don't think most people need to jump into Smolov (including me when I did it). I think they need to find the correct intermediate training program to get their progress down. Smolov should be used as a plateau barrier, not a long term training program or one that everyone should do (I believe everyone should do a SS based program to begin their training and when they are returning after a long layoff). Did I get good gains from it? Yes. 1RM went from 205 kg to 227.5 kg, even though I had large form leaks. I think my form is much better now, but it has taken me a long time to get back up to the 227.5 kg mark. Smolov is good for short term gains and should only be used in a well thought out plan as to what you are going to do after. Smolov beats the crap out of you (high volume and intensity) and may not be beneficial to everyone, especially those who have form leaks that need to be fixed prior to getting stronger. I will try and take a look at your log and give more personalized response as to my thoughts on if it would be beneficial for you to follow.

How the hell did messi get the golden boot. I saw most of Arg games and he was not even most worthy player on his own team. Mascherano was definitely the lifeblood of that team and it's best player.

That was def some kind of lifetime achievement selection.

seems like messi getting the golden boot was just a marketing ploy from the sponsors (read: adidas) of the WC. guy came close enough they probably thought they'd get away with awarding him

Just got back from a trip to Minnesota for a massive family reunion, over 150 people. The entire trip was 6 days and I basically went out of my way to stuff my face at every opportunity. Desserts, ribs, tons and tons of ****ing homemade cookies, massive breakfasts. People were actually commenting on how I was always eating. Anyone want to guess how much weight I gained? I consumed no liquid calories.

You have to tell us what gear you are currently on. Will make a big difference how your body responds to massive calorie increase.

I am a pretty unsophisticated soccer fan, and even I could tell he wasn't the best player on his own team, forget the whole tourney, especially in the las couple games when the competition got tougher.

I saw all the Germany games so I might be biased (for example I only saw Columbia play one game so I can't comment on James) but I kinda liked boateng. It seemed countless times the other team was threatening on a counter and he got a foot in. I don't think he missed a singe second of he tourney and he was solid throughout.

I assume you are guy in very front cause no one else looks like they even lift. That being said how are supposed to guess how fat you are if we can only see you from the chest up wearing a t shirt?

I set the line on my GAINS at 5 pounds and took the over.

Somehow only managed to gain 2 pounds and that was after eating two double quarter pounders after the train ride home last night. Pretty surprised.
