I guess I can't empirically
prove that Manny is being "used" more than Floyd is but the way both sides seem to do things seems really different.
For the record, I respect Floyd for being his own boss (as much as that's possible in boxing). I think it's great that he has the talent to do what he wants and I don't like that Manny has that same talent but seems not to be at the forefront of driving his career.
*You could say Manny doesn't have the business sense to do it so he needs Arum, but I can't speak to that one way or the other.

To be honest, the logical thing for Roach to do would be to say Arum is responsible. That would make Arum the bad guy instead of Manny.
Roach has NO ties to Arum. He only cares about Manny. Why would he "lie" if that hurts Mannys image more than the truth?
Roach would say Manny calls the shots because no one in the boxing industry is going to say "My fighter is impotent in decision making and Bob Arum holds at least a decent amount of sway here".
I don't know why Arum or Golden Boy or anyone else even needs to be here (I understand why they are, just not why they should be). This fight is so huge you and I could promote it and it would do fine.

Why do we blame some fighters for who they fight, and with others we blame their promoter?
I blamed Floyd when he made stupid requests and I'll blame Manny if I find out this fight doesn't go off because either his cut hasn't healed (laughable) or Arum wants a bigger stadium (more laughable).
I think Floyd's behavior is still funny and very telling about him as a person and a fighter, but I don't care if Floyd or Manny are bitches or not, I just want to see them hit each other.
