Just had a thought, with all the medical problems she supposedly had, perhaps he attempted to coax money out of Te'o. Would be funny if it comes out he took large amounts of money from boosters to give to his internet gf. At least then the catfish angle would make way more sense
From the original Deadspin article: "Lennay Kekua's death resonated across the college football landscape—especially at Notre Dame, where the community immediately embraced her as a fallen sister. Charity funds were started, and donations poured into foundations dedicated to leukemia research. More than $3,000 has been pledged in one IndieGogo campaign raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society."
Money came in after Kekua's 'death' and hopefully went to worthwhile causes. Whether any money went directly to 'the family', either before or after Sept. 12th is unknown to me. It wouldn't surprise me at all if money was the primary objective of this whole scam (much more so then the gay angle).
Video of the cousins of the first guy that got "hoaxed"
-Someone catfished in 2008
-Tuiasassasasasasasasopo
-Girl tried to warn Te'o on twitter, got blocked
-3 people in the hoax camp including a female who was "the voice"
The only motivation I can possibly see for him to do this is to get intimate with guys he is attracted to.
If this has been going on 4 years, he started the relationship/hoax before Te'o was nationally famous, and would have no idea he would become such a big name.
So the claimed motive is that it was just a joke/game that went on this whole time? If he really broke down and cried in a confession, I feel like that would have come out awhile ago. Sounds like he's just ldo the fall guy.
Francessa claiming that Te'o has been dating another girl since the "death" of Lennay. Real girl, met after the BC game. Also that he kept the Dec 6 contact quiet "for the sake of the team."
Hate to say this and be all tin-foily, but still can't get over Te'o's lies when he supposedly didn't know Lennay was fake, and wondering if CAA is organizing people to create a narrative.

i guess those are the 2 people that were tweeting about it in December:
I'm just pissed I didn't smell BS on this one months ago and blow the top off this myself. I'm thinking I should look into Brett Favre. Dad dies, brother in law dies, wife gets breast cancer and hurricane destroyed his home in less than 2 years? My ass
well yeah if you believed this the whole time "Te'o was hoaxed, Te'o milked the hell out of an online "friend" dying in a super scummy way seems like the leader in the clubhouse" then it isn't but the other theories floating around are losing weight fast imo
ESPN now reporting that Tuiasosopo tells a friend that he was behind hoax....Te'o "not involved".

Yup, agree with these. Also think this source mysteriously popping up - not least the fact she was happy to have her voice recorded but didn't want her name released - plays into the CAA/Tuiasosopo-as-fall-guy narrative pretty conveniently.
Like, I'm so sure that this guy's cousin was just like sure I'll waste hours upon hours of my life talking to this guy on the phone with literally no end game in sight.
