That's nice of him.

It really feels like Mueller made this announcement today deliberately as a hedge against his impending firing. Trump would have looked woat firing Mueller before, but now even more so. Well played imo.

Huh? Who's lady is dis?

Mueller hasn't said a word yet as far as I know.

The Heritage Foundation pays about $2 million to sponsor Limbaugh’s show and about $1.3 million to do the same with Hannity’s – and considers it money well spent.
And that's not like they run commercials to sponsor his show. They pay him to spout conservogarbage.

He is following in Dan Rather's footsteps. Rather built his career on the fact that he was lucky enough to be in Dallas when JFK was shot. Rather didn't do a good job there but it gave him great exposure.

Not sure what Hannity has to do with JFK, but whatever comrade
06-15-2017 , 12:46 AM
Putin brought up JFK too- in an interview with Oliver Stone, I think. Russian talking points. Weird.

It's just a bat signal for the conspiracy theorists.

I expect a rift space time if Hanity ever views the pee tapes.
06-15-2017 , 12:48 AM
Meh prob wouldn't phase him. Hannity seems like the kind of dude who would keep a woman chained in his basement.

Lol they actually get spoonfed these absurdities. The GOP's arguments have been so dumb these past months I always assumed Congressmen were coming up with them on the spot, but wow there's a committee in a room somewhere writing these things down. Incredible. This actually represents effort from them.

If you look towards the end, you'll see a wonderful example of the GOP ouroboros in action.

Some background: Clinton or her aides used software called BleachBit to delete old emails (and other junk, the tool's main intended use is to free up storage space). The Republicans seized on this as proof Hillary was engaged in a coverup. They then dramatized it in a campaign ad by having a reenactor pour bleach on a computer.

Now, in their talking points, pouring small-b-bleach on a computer is something that actually happened in reality. They were trying dupe their voters and succeeded in duping themselves. Truly the party of Elmer Fudd.

To be fair, these are the White House talking points. They handed them out to the GOP for the Comey testimony and they were nearly 100% <insert Comey character assassination here>. The GOP simply ignored them and played "what's over there?" while commending Comey personally.

Trump huddled with donors on day of Comey testimony
Rich benefactors were summoned to the White House for a briefing last week.

Quote:
On the same day last week that fired FBI Director James Comey delivered his damaging Senate testimony, President Donald Trump’s team summoned about a dozen top donors to the White House to rally support for Trump’s agenda.

The donors — including Ken Griffin, Doug DeVos, Tom Hicks, Jr., Rebekah Mercer, Todd Ricketts, Tom Saunders, Paul Singer and Dick Uihlein — gathered in the Roosevelt Room on June 8 for a briefing from Trump’s legislative director Marc Short, according to a senior administration official and other people familiar with the event.
For a billionaire Trump sure needs to give a lot of very convincing love to big donors, more or less adhering to (but failing to implement) their agenda.

I read a few articles at the weekend as I was wondering about the powers Mueller has. It seemed to be that he himself has the power to bring charges, so he doesn't have to report his findings to anyone and then hope that they follow through. The wikipedia page says something like special counsels have the power to "investigate and prosecute", and I found a few articles about Mueller himself saying he had the power to charge.

It seemed that the controversy would come in on the question of whether a sitting president can be open to anything other than impeachment. Apparently lawyers for Nixon and the prosecutors wrote arguments for a possible hearing on this back in the day, but it never had to go ahead.

Can't wait for the looming constitutional crisis.
