yes RDP/VPN/dedicated server -> new account in "legal" country will be the best method most likely going forward.

Or by snowshoes and move into my neighbors igloo!

BANG.

Fulltilt shot itself in the foot along with Stars/AP by ratting on Daniel Tzvetkoff. Daniel in turn gave everyone up to save his own skin. Fulltilt's history of incompetence has reached its maximum level.

In the process, US poker players are shot in the face. Over the next 48 hours we will find out if the entire world poker players have been shot as well because the DOJ now wants to burn Tilt/Stars to the ground.

The DOJ wants 3birrions dorrars, heavy fines on top of that along with 30 years plus prison time for individual charges alone. There are multiple charges. The DOJ wants it all.

This kind of rhetoric may sound persuasive to some but give me a fkn break. Nobody's holding up stars or tilt as pillars of virtue at this point but you're reasoning is so ****ed.

BTW, you happily did business with those fraudulent money launderers knowing shady **** was goin down for a long time. So what does that make you?

Just though I'd pass it along for those in US who can't login to FTP. Bummer.
Thanks. I was able to download the file but now my ****ing antivirus software is blocking it and I can't figure out why or how to disable the block. HYACHACHA time to just power down for the rest of the day. (lol fat chance of that)

Does anybody know if Partypoker have recently been spending big on US lobbying?

Destroy PS and FTP - seize all their assets - sell all the good stuff on to Party who also have to pay for State licenses.

Sounds like a profitable plan to me.

Because it strikes fear in the hearts of the smaller sites, and those sites aren't worth as money/don't have the kind of corporate backing that the big ones do.

explain why it was only done after a kid showed them the process of fraud?
This isn't the first time the government has tried to bar banks from sending money to and from sites. Look at that CNBC video from 2009. Look at the UIGEA itself. That had nothing to with this kid. If there were no sensationalist media, there would be no news.

Quote:
explain why they allow casinos, bingo, sportsbooks?
They don't "allow" it. And while there are arguments to be made that booking is a 'game' of skill, there is a LOT more left to chance in the kinds of games you mention. Poker is huge. You see it all over TV, all over the internet. Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth are nearly household names. Poker gives people the ability to make money without having to buy into the corporate agenda. It offers REAL monetary freedom to those who take the time to learn and understand it. It is also extremely cutthroat and there are tons of irresponsible people who destroy their lives playing it. Its the perfect scapegoat. I am certain that this will have a ripple effect on sportsbooks as well. Look at PlayersOnly. Its a Merge skin that allows sportsbetting as well. You think that skin won't be affected directly as a result of this?

Quote:
explain why sites that werent greedy e-check US accepted, but did accept us players were not taken down?
Merge DID use echecks but they just recently stopped. It all goes back to making a scapegoat out of the community. This is a huge scare tactic. Think about it. If they knocked out merge and bodog, who would give a ****? The people who ran to those sites to get away from regs at FT and PS, sure. The grinders wouldn't give a **** at all.

This was designed fro maximum impact to those that such an event WOULD impact most.

If any of the answers arent clear then ur whole theory is blown.

If they all are then great we are all screwed and its wasted energy anyways as u say... or is this a call to rise up ???!?!?
This IS a call to rise up.

None of us deserve this. I am not the greatest poker player in the universe, but I am a winning player and most importantly I thoroughly enjoyed the time I invested into poker. Theres NOTHING wrong with that at all.

outside residents and financial institutions do not fall under UIGEA right? Does this not me that our banks and processors ARE performing legal transactions when they interact with poker sites? Just asking some questions because after reading up on UIGEA it seems that is what made all of this "illegal"

3 years from now the Feds will probably be the owners of the biggest US based poker site. There is to much $ to be made not too.

Mine did too at first. I disabled my Antivirus for 15 min while it installed. I was checking to see if there were any US players playing and I saw one guy in a SNG. However, he was "sitting out" so it doesn't look like he was able to play based on his comments in chatbox. He must have been previously logged in before they hit the switch.

It's not so obvious. Even more money to be made from weed and hos but that hasn't made either of them legal.

Let's not forget how much of the opposition to Online Gaming is entirely ideological.

You are giving the Feds too much credit. I would envision a rake that would make it impossible to make a living playing poker

"The defendants shall forfeit to the United States....All the defendants' rights, title, and interests in the following entities and businesses:

1. Pokerstars,
2. Full Tilt Poker,
3. Absolute Poker,
4. Ultimate Bet,
5. Oldford Group ltd.,
6. Rational Entertainment enterprises ltd.,
7. Pyr software ltd.,
8. Stelekram ltd.,
9. Sphene International ltd.,
10. Tiltware ltd., "

And it lists another dozen companies, too.

Now, I am not an attorney, but this clearly sounds like The Federal Government is attempting to seize the ENTIRE POKER COMPANIES and their software, and not just the $3 billion in cash.

I think this part of the indictment is being overlooked.

What say you guys?
I think the US is getting pretty desperate in it's attempt to scrounge up money to pay it's debts. I think these guys are going to get some pretty decent lawyers defending them so I doubt if the US department of theft will get to confiscate their assets. This will get dragged out in court for ages.
