This is just never ending.... so sad to see what happened to all of these people. I hope it all works out for everyone in the end. I just want the day to come, where everyone gets paid by FTP and poker is legalized in the US. But can't sit around and wait everyday for something new to happen. It will happen when you least expect it. It sure is awful quiet right now for this deal. I hope something pops off soon.

There is also the possibility that the deal is still going through, just that Pstars wants to separate as much as they can between themselves and Pkings, Ft etc...Possible that they want to get rid of anything they don't need, leaving the bad taste of the name out of players mouths? Liquidating the company as much as possible before relaunching with a dirty name and bad rep? I'm fishing here but....

I mean seriously, if you were pokerstars, would you want anything from their support side or management coming along for the ride? The reputation over there is scum, and Stars wants nothing like that associated with them when it's time to launch.

First let me say this is my own opinion and not based on any inside information...

A number of people were hired on a temporary contract, including people that were former employees that were lost to the redundancy. At the time, I am sure that Tapie approved the payroll because he was under the impression that their deal closing was imminent, within days. Right now, I don't think PocketKings has the authority to renew or initiate new contracts, strictly because they cannot take on new liabilities without approval and the guarantee that those liabilities will be paid. The new buyer could indeed sign those new contracts at any time, or never, they can bring in their own people or consolidate certain departments etc. It's just that I don't think those decisions have been made yet in full and they certainly aren't closing this weekend, so it is not totally unexpected.

That said, I've been in touch with some of the people that returned to work at PK and they really like their jobs, they want to keep those jobs, even with and especially with, the new buyer. Many left other employment to return to Dublin, and moved their families. I hope that the uncertainty for them is cleared up soon, but I don't believe that this happening (the contracts not being renewed) means that the negotiations being worked on now have taken any downward spiral at all.

Im optimistic that no news is good news in this situation. I don't see any reason why they couldn't have denied the 'rumors' if they weren't planning to buy FTP. Lets hope at least

Their not going to respond to rumors, it would not make sense really. If they are really in talks to attempt to purchase FTP, then the worse thing they can do is start issueing news releases on the progress of the talks.

The only good news in everything I guess would be if they were no interested buyers in FTP, then I would imagine they would go chapter 11. Sense they have not done that, then someone must be interested in buying them.

Now if the Deals go thru then I seriously think some announcement by all parties is likely, ya think? Since no deal has yet been made there are no previous announcements except of course when PS Announced that they would pay all their USA customers their balances. That worked out.
