I may not post a lot or play as much as some, and this thread is a bit too long for me to read all at the moment...

But I would like to say I don't like this thing one bit. At this point I'll probably take my business elsewhere.

You'd probably have a different view on it if your skillset was wider than hitting the fold button.

It's not like 9man format is ****ing rocket science or something. The only people in position to say things like this are people who play cash games and buyin for 100bb and this is coming from someone who has played sngs the majority of their poker "career"

One time I called a guy on a bubble with KK, but afterwards I felt terrible and considered checking myself into a nuthouse for making such a maniacal move.

They're huge flipfests with 8+ regs per table.

How could they be anywhere near DON profitability which allows you to be far more selective with your moves with everybody but donks playing rather tight, thus decreasing variance and increasing profit.

fifty50 is a good name considering how many coin flips there are

They should push a PLO version of the F50 and just call them CoinFlips

I'd imagine there might be a couple Stars regs who migrate over once DoNs are officially gone from Stars, so those numbers should go up even further. Also, with enough volume, rakeback deals on RPM and Carbon are almost on par with SNE and in some cases better.

Game security and customer service will be worse than Stars, but I guess it's a tradeoff for what I imagine are softer games and actually being able to play DoNs.
I'm baaaaak! lol. Hey mega, could u do me a favor and gimme a quick rundown for carbon as far as minutes per level and buy+entry fee for the lower stakes 6 and 10 man dons? Also, when u say the traffic is good at low stakes, what do u mean by good? can i still play 25-30 at a time during peak hours like i was on stars? Hit me up dude. Im giving stars one last chance to reneg on 2/28 removal or im def gone.

yeah please don't announce something like this ever again just do it and surprise us lol i refresh this page like 100 times daily in the hopes of 6 VPPS per dolar (at least =P) which like i said before IMHO should have been one of the changes for 2011.

i want to be able to someday beat the $60s.

Sorry, just a little vague Office humor from the episode where Charles asks Jim to type up a rundown.

OK here's your Merge rundown:

-Rake is twice as much ($50+4 instead of $50+2)
-Blind levels are 7 minutes, so it makes the rake slightly more acceptable
-Traffic's decent from about noon to midnight EST, but really falls off in the AM
-DoNs are split up into 10-man and 6-man tables and for some reason the 6-man are way more popular
-You probably won't be able to 30-table, but the software isn't nearly as good as Stars so it's hard to play more than 15-20 at once anyway
-The middle stakes game seem to go off almost as often as low stakes, so if you wanna mix $20-$50, you can probably get 20 going at peak times, but if you play $5-$10, your peak will probably also be 20 games
-Hopefully traffic picks up a bit in March once Merge becomes the best option for American DoN players

cake don traffic is terrible from what I've seen. barely any $10 games go off and you'd be lucky to 8 table $2 and $5 games. lol, gl

Doug said in the 2/24 update that it's very unlikely they add DoN's. gg

He used to say "never" so "very unlikely" is an upgrade!

I was surprised at the number of DONs going on Bodog, you can only 4 table of course but you can get the limit up to the $20 level and mix in some $50, rewards suck compared to Merge so effective rake is probably higher.

HM was still real buggy last time I tried it on Merge, would only work on 1 table per limit.

You USA players should speak to the Merge reps and suggest this would be just the right time for a Sng/Don promotion.
