I cant find him via facebook search, perhaps he has already seen this and changed his profile name or made himself hidden?
03-07-2013 , 09:36 PM
honestly no words, idk if exposing that profile was best yet but honestly this is all just unbelievable.
03-07-2013 , 09:37 PM
You can make your profile unsearchable through privacy settings. I assume he did that, iirc he has a public "Dean Bogan" profile as well.

Lipo...that is over the line.

I don't know what is fueling you and why you insist on train wrecking the guy at this level, but you should get a grip.

Scammer or not, this allegorical persecution is out of control, and you are fanning the flames.

Take it to PMs or start a Skype convo.

Inciting a mob is what this has become, and putting his name and fb out here is borderline criminal.

Bad form...any way you slice it.

Ok guys, some semi-good news I guess.

I rang the Orygen Youth Health donations line and spoke with a lady named Lisa Bird. I said I was calling on behalf of a group of donators who contributed to a fundraiser for their organisation back in November 2012. Immediately she said "are you referring to Dean Bryden's fundraiser?". Epic relief.

A long story short, all the information Dean gave about being an ex-patient, his mother starting the peer support program at the centre, and the funds being put toward new sporting equipment and peer support workers at the inpatient clinic is 100% true. Lisa knew that the amount raised was ~$11,000. She also mentioned that they set up a banner on the fundraising website that generated ~$500 worth of donations on the day.

She is aware of the $4,900 payment that was made by Claydol, but was unaware that it was related to Dean's fundraiser. I asked if that donation could please go toward the things her and Dean had discussed last year, and she's thrilled that they can move on those plans next week.

When I explained that the donators will be pleased to hear that the intentions of the fundraiser were pure, she said there's no doubt in her mind that Dean set this up in good faith. He is very passionate about youth health and the Orygen Youth Health Centre particularly, and he was very excited when he announced to Lisa the amount of funds he had raised.

Of course all of this does not excuse the fact that ~6k of raised funds are missing, but I for one feel a whole lot better knowing that I wasn't just had from the start.

Hardly over the line. From the evidence presented he's scammed the community and effectively stolen from charity which itself is more than borderline criminal. From the evidence presented it also appears that he has been active on the internet, probably is reading this thread but isn't replying.

Naming and shaming is the right thing to do until proven otherwise. If all the money shows up, some kind of logical explanation behind it all and everything is rectified, I'm sure lipo will re-edit the title. But until then putting his details in the title so that anyone dealing with him in the future that googles his name can quickly find this thread and see what kind of character they are dealing with is definitely the best course of action to prevent others from potentially being scammed in the same way.

Yep thanks for that, good news. Did she specifically talk about the fact that dean stopped contact etc with them/didn't pay as planned etc?

Well if this doesn't compel you to donate to hydrocephalus research and prevention I don't know what will.

Yeah, she said she hadn't heard from Dean since they spoke about the amount raised and how it would be used.

She said the organisation knew it was a "drinking and gambling" thing, and that while they wouldn't actively promote it, they were happy for the website to have a donations banner, and obviously to accept any monies raised. She said she was unsure of whether to follow up about the money, because they were somewhat uncertain about how the 11k was "raised or won", and perhaps there was potential for it to be "lost" if it was in relation to gambling.

As you guys may or may not know, I exclusively play high stakes 6m hypers quite a bit (I have the highest VPP total this year.)

I don't usually like to comment because it may be inappropriate, and also this may not be related, but I saw bogan4life sitting in high stakes hypers a fair bit, and based on his play I would estimate he is quite a losing player for the stakes he was playing. This was in late January I believe, not sure exact dates. I don't rule out degen. Also if there was some degen, it could also just be a symptom of something else.

o dear
03-07-2013 , 11:28 PM
Ya Bogan was playing 200s a bit back in Nov/Dec too, was he sitting 3s and 5s Alex? Obvs since I dropped down stakes and not even really game selecting 3s/5s I don't really pay attn, but I for sure played ~80-100 100s/200s with him

Thx Ali for calling in, appreciate yours/claydols/everyone elses hard work to try to help rectify the situation. <3 2p2 mttc

just wondering, do you exclusively play high stakes 6m hypers still and also have the highest VPP total this year?

I currently use sharkscope and have the highest searches per day on pokerstars this year and I can confirm Alex Wice and Bogan4life have played and Alex Wice has a definite edge.
