Thats such a dumb thing to say.

How about I raise 10k for a burns charity by organising a sponsored hot coal walk?

Only a complete moron would think its appropriate despite the end result. Hot coal walking doesnt even create a lot of burns victims, but it shows a complete lack of thought about the charity the moneys intended for. Considering drug and alcohol abuse is probably one of the leading causes of youth mental health im not sure how anyone would think a drinking marathon is a swell idea.

Poker players have absolutely no concept of reality.

Anyway, I take it the 6k's all tied up like a nice loose end should be? It has been well over 48 hrs.

after reading bogan's post i see no evidence the money wasn't gone at that point (most likely for "personal" reasons), do you?

I can understand where you're coming from but I think you've got it wrong. Bogan wasn't just raising money, he was raising awareness too.
03-02-2013 , 09:42 AM
Cmon. Raising awareness by drinking himself into a stupor? Its massively inappropriate.

It also has a lot of possible negative repercussions if 'youth' or parents of yoof''s who have been effected by drugs and alcohol find out the charity has been involved/sanctioned this fund raiser. Of which there are countless no doubt.

No-one really gets hurt by someone training and running a marathon or similar, and its something not everyone has the will or perseverance to be able to do. I certainly wouldve donated to something that took a bit of effort.

I would never pay money to watch a fat aussie sit around drinking beer all day under the guise of charity, and it says a lot about the mentality of some poker players that it received so much support imo.

Nobody payed for that, they payed for charity. Thanks for contributing tho.

soooo, is this taken care of yet?

seems pretty absurd its taken this long. hope all is well with bogan, but there really is no excuse the money isnt in the hands of the charity yet.
03-02-2013 , 12:38 PM
Agree with Zima- inexcusable that the money is not with the charity yet and should already be closed off and done with along with confirmation of delivery. What exactly is taking so long? Personal issues notwithstanding as that doesn't appear to be a valid excuse based on what Dean has written previously.

If I wanted to know why it's bad to be a smackhead, I wouldn't look for the opinion of someone who hates drugs without ever having done them, I would look for the opinion of a smackhead.
You can sit around on 2p2 saying it's tacky that this guy spent a day playing poker and drinking beer and telling us how he ****ed up his life, and subsequently raised money for a worthy cause, but tbh, you're just being an overly sensitive little ******.
The next time you feel like spewing your PC zzzzzarrhea, do yourself and the forum a favour and have a quiet aggressive wank instead. Cheers.

Agree its not probably in the best taste, but still "anything for a cause".
If Dean had of said, hey guize, im gonna shave my head for charity lets raise 10k. The majority of people would have said GTFO you dumb aussie. People donated because it was a crazy thing to do and it got people's attention. Hence getting all the action it did and making quadjacks get onboard. Regardless of where the money is now, im 99% sure his intentions were pure in the beginning.

For a poker player who has such a great concept of reality, you really have no argument, please stop posting or slagging off the "idea". Your only posting now due to the end result.

Im glad Dean appears ok, he's prolly one of a handful of guy's who i have a lot of time for in poker.

Regardless, do we have real updates on whats happening in regards to our money?

Hey guy. I think youll find I posted about how stupid an idea it was in the original thread.

I cant even remember now, but im sure you can check.

Also I dgaf about the end result I wouldve posted its a moronic idea had he paid up instantly. As it appears hes ****ed off and spent it on Meth I feel no problem saying it still.

If his intentions were so pure he would have donated the $.

uh, wat? the whole point of this was to get money to a worthy cause. where the money is, is the whole problem here. its not in the hands of the charity.

who gives a **** if his intentions were "pure" (whatever that means)

5types comes off aggro a lot, but he is also spot on much of the time (even though his message might be lost in the zackattakstyle he portrays)

Dean, take 2 mins out of your busy schedule and just donate the money so this can go away. Marc and LO, whats going on with this? Marc, you still have money for this right?

Marc's holding 50% of the money Dave, if Dean had ill intentions, he would have ensured he had access to 100% of the funds.

You know exactly what it means so don't try to be a smart ass.

Yeah 5 types is pretty spot on, but f*ck all the contracting/ironic sh*t in this thread, the bottom line is, like you said, and what i said, where is the money?
03-02-2013 , 05:27 PM
so, if marc is holding 50%, marc should just donate it to the charity.

Unfortunately I haven't heard any more from Dean since last Monday. I'm running out of ways to justify his lack of communication, and of course I agree that at some point (this point? idk) a decision will have to be made as to how to handle the $5k that Marc has been left holding on to.
