Why shouid we take this risk when we could use our rescources to help in other ways?
Do you know these misplaced fears followed pretty much every single group who has immigrated to the US. It's cute that racists in the US in 2017 think they are the first to irrationally fear immigrants but it's happened for pretty much every RACE, RELIGION and COUNTRY there is. Same fears, same dumb rhetoric. It's like people don't even understand how the US works or what it is. Italians, Germans, Chinese, Catholics, Irish, Eastern Europeans and on and on.
I realize these generalized fear of immigrants is steeped in self loathing and inadequacy but it seems to me if people spent just a little effort studying history they would realize they are being the same sort of ignorant and foolish as previous generations.
To sum it up, if your entire position on immigration can easily be turned into a mad lib you are not on very solid ground.
Whatever background anyone who is quaking at the thought of Islamic immigrants had there were people who were just as afraid of their ancestors. This there is no questioning.
