I know, there was just a bit of Hollywood discussion amongst your mention of the new room.

i've never identified myself to anyone in the room with the exception of poker xanadu to thank him for his work in the legislation forum prior to new stakes in july. and i haven't even played much in the last couple of months because i have been outta town doing other things. however, i am interested in knowing who one of u is so hopefully u respond...

today around noon when shorthanded in the 2/5 game, when i 4-bet shoved on u BB vs BTN, i had K2s. so who r u? and prove it by saying what hand u had (remember u showed me).

I think someone asked this before, but if I left my car there for a few weeks would they possibly tow it?

I plan on playing a overnight session, then catching a early morning flight this weekend.

Which matters to me 0% because:
1. I dont drink (its -EV)
2. I dont do massages (its -EV)
3. Food is cheaper for me in the long run because I get 1$/hr comps, you get .50/hr comps (lol!)
4. Rake is higher

Etc... Silks is just not as good, end of story

Depends on what stakes you're talking about. For 5/10+, the rake at Silks is actually lower.

It's still 10% up to 5$ + 2$ drop right? I have never played 5/10 there to be honest.

Nope, it's $8 per half, which is a lot less expensive than raking per hand.

I realize a serious player should not be concerned with such things, but seeing the pic makes me ask: How exactly does this new MEGA bad beat work? I know the weakest hand you can lose with now is quad TENS. A regular there told me that some of the BBJ rake goes towards other jackpots (high hand, whatever), and only some of it goes to the progressive. He also said the minimum Progressive amount is 100K every time. But in your pic there, it looks like your friend got 10K cash and 39K check.....where's the rest of it? Anyone with more info about the BBJ feel free to contribute - I think I'll go win it.

That is 50k in cash. and out of the Jackpot money collected each day Im pretty sure 40 or 50% goes to the 2 or 3 back ups they have to mantain a min. 100k payout even if it hits a few times quickly.
any promos they have in the poker room the money comes from the jackpot fund also. Like the 100k freeroll next month.

Wow, 50K in cash? I thought they would only pay you a max of 10K in cash on account of the Banks Currency Transaction Report (CTR). How come your friend wanted so much in cash?

The mega bad beat is just a way to scoop off some of the drop. There is no way they can accurately monitor how much goes in for each location. Congrats to your buddy, tell him to come play some bigger games with the new bankroll

lol, I think he is using the money to start a business.

also it does suck that they are doing NFND at hollywood HR but not tampa so thats alot more jackpot dollars dropped in tampa but its all split up.
Its been hitting 75% at THR anyway I guess tho.

Actually they still drop the jackpot at Hollywood HR even w/o a flop. They just don't take a rake.

And the money shot you posted was pretty baller

i've been playing there since they had the silly cash games and the SNGs only on tuesdays and thursdays (like 5 yrs ago?) so it is a possibility. anyways, it just seemed obv u had to be here on 2+2 so i wanted to confirm.

i've had 4 consecutive losing sessions after winning 9 in a row. how u been doing out there lately?

that wasn't me the other day. i am on a one year ban from the hard rock until march for fighting in the high limit blackjack pit. if i remember you correctly you're a relatively smart guy, math person. and i think i have seen you out at university lanes with family/a girl like 3 years ago as well. you were def. above the curve in playing and did well. when the 100 max came you played the 2/5 and i think preferred that over when it switched to 5/10.

keep beatin them up. good luck.

I didn't realize the MegaBadBeat was from multiple locations. So Hollywood, Tampa, where else?

And if there is no way to measure how much goes in from each location, how do they allocate money to the BBJ at all? Come to think of it, I have no idea how the funding mechanism works past the dealer dropping a dollar per hand into the box at the table.

Lastly, if the Bad Beat just scoops some of the drop, where does the rest of the drop go?

a certain % goes to the 2 back up jackpots so its always a min. 100k even after it hits.
$1 is taken in addition to the rake on pot of $10 or more and that goes in sepetate slot.
some locations only have a few tables going to they contribute less but also that room will have a very low chance of hitting.

HR tampa has the most HE tables going out of all of them at any given time and that is why the jackpot hits there like 75%+.

Based on quantitative math, it's still a fair way of doing things. And there's like 7 different locations that share the bbj, it's all seminole owned properties.
