Much better structure than TV imo. Haven't played at TV in a while, but the games at Graton are softer than I remember them being at TV from 5-6 months ago, so definitely try and make it out if the drive makes sense for you.
I was coming back from the bay and decided to check out Graton for about an hour tonight before I returned to sacramento. I dropped by to check out the casino layout but mostly the poker room. Pretty nice and lists were ridiculous but I wasn't planning to play.

Nice place overall but the smoke is beyond bearable. Erle talked about needing a gas mask to play at Thunder Valley but the smoke there never bothered me too much. Graton had my eyes watering after 30 minutes. I didn't play so I'm not sure if the poker room will be different since it's not completely closed out. I hope they can somehow weed out the smoke. I've never been in a bigger smoke cloud in my life.

Sorry for the rant but had to give my 2 cents.

Did I mention I hate cigarette smoke? If not, I will now. I absolutely hate the smoke, and in this day and age casino owners should know better and make the proper adjustments to prevent me from having to endure it.

I was supposed to go to GC Friday, but if it's that smoky, I'm glad I didn't.

TV had a nice little local tournament today which I passed in favor of building a doll house (would have loved to put that off), because I am sticking to my guns and until some changes are made I will only play the large guarantee events (I can't pass up on the value).

Went to TV yesterday and I was really impressed and think it is a great room. I was only there one day but saw a lot of positives and the room is beautiful.

The have removed the betting line (which I told Ben to ax long ago), started using TDA rules, and the dealers were WAY better than I expected.

One thing I can guarantee you is that you are lucky to have a guy like Ben Erwin at the helm that is trying REAL HARD to make things right and we have a great relationship that will hopefully continue.

I made some notes and will be forwarding them along to Ben but I am really looking forward the the WPT event March 15-19th.

PS I was in the tournament for 2 entries and played like a donk!

Also blazed through 4 racks in a 4-8 Omaha/8 game so I did help the local economy.

Saw some major changes at Thunder yesterday.

-New Felt: nice and clean with their "Ante Up" logo on them and....NO LINE! Finally! Hallelujah thank Baby Jesus the line rule is finally dead!

-They Kept the tournament players in the poker room, and opened small cash games on the outer tables! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. This was a big 1 for me.

Kudos to Ben for making these changes! And thank you Matt for coming along and helping them out!

hey everyone was just trying to see where the best cash games in sac are besides TV and capitol at the moment. Been out of sac for 4+ years and just moved back and trying to see where the action is at. I read back a handful of pages to check for similar questions but didn't read the whole thread.

1/3-5/10. checked out TV and Capitol since i got back and TV seemed decent, although seems reg heavy and max buyins are depressing. Capitol was about the same as i remember it 4 years ago. I heard Casino Royale moved locations but haven't been out to check the games was hoping to get input. Was told limelight shut down but doesn't really matter i guess. Seems like Jackson would be thin these days as well but not sure.

Anyways, any opinions and input i'd most appreciate guys. thanks.

Royale runs a bigger game (2-5-10) a couple days early to mid-week and an everyday 1-2/4 to open $40-400 buyin game.

Limelight is NOT closed, it's 1-3 is $60-300 buyin, they also get a bigger game usually Thursday evenings.

Not sure about Jackson, but I do recall someone doing a TR ITT not too far back.

Mon - ? (Probably TV or Cap)
Tue - Casino Royale 2/5/10
Wed - Casino Royale 2/5/10, Red Hawk 2/5 Deepstack
Thur - Limelight 5/10
Fri - TV plenty of 2/5 and at least one 5/10
Sat - TV plenty of 2/5 and at least one 5/10 (usually two)
Sun - TV has some 2/5, but CAP does as well (? bigger games anywhere)

Graton is awesome because bills play (2/5 +), and there is no ******ed line rules or big chip restrictions ($100, $25 chips are in play). The action is pretty good and there is almost always a PLO game. They now have food delivery (limited hours) and u can pay the waitress in chips (finally). Not sure on the comps when I swipe it still says testing

Ran for the first time on Monday. Haven't played it yet. Check the bravo for interest list

Today I have only seen one person ever on the interest list for it, but that could change very quickly in the evening. I do hope it catches on though and runs on a regular basis. 500 max 2/5 kind of sucks.

Got to say I'm happy Thunder finally decided to make some changes.

No more line rule
9 handed cash games
5/5NL 300-1k

Will have to make a trip this weekend to checkout the 5/5NL

This is fantastic news! Looks like I will finally be playing at Thunder!

Questions for all of you though....How do you feel about having Cash (100's) play in 5-5 and above? Also, the last time I played 5-10 there, I noticed that you are not allowed to Run it Twice, even if the entire table agrees. Does anyone else agree with me that this needs to be implemented in the bigger games?

I feel like at times Thunder tries to take too much control over the cash games they spread when really, it should be up to the players. However, this is a major step in the right direction and I look forward to playing there more.

Anyone interested in getting a weekly PLO game going???

Normally I'd rather cash not play. But at places without a cashier cage in the poker room I actually prefer it, so it doesn't bother me at all at Graton. Hate cashing out with no privacy at the front desk.

Fan of the changes but hopeful 5/5 hurts the 2/5 more then 5/10 but I'm guessing it will be other way around.

This.

I don't really think cash playing is much of an issue as the buy-in for 5-5 is only 1000 max. They will also let the cash play up until chips arrive so that really is not much of a concern either. Also, I am pretty sure they will not allow it to really play because they like to track how players cashing out for over 3k.

It would be nice if 5/5 brought in some people that would normally not be there for either 5/T or 2/5.
