What are the buy ins for that 1/1/3 game? How did 2 players get $3k stacks??

We've all been there before when you are card dead and nothing works.

Yea It's a card room in Manteca called Casino Real. There is no cap to the 1/1/3 game so I assume these 3 guys bought in for 3-4k. I've never seen anything like it but it was awesome how much money was on the tables. Im for sure going back there i just hope it turns out better next time.

Thinking of playing in the first Sunday Mega Deep Stack $150 tourney at Casino Royale tomorrow, but wanted to know what to expect in terms of turnout. Has anyone played in this before? I like CR's mtt structure better than all of the other Sac tourneys, but their daily mtt's have dropped in the number of players drastically over the last several months.

Maybe because they caught a player blatantly cheating in their tournaments and decided it was no big deal and let him keep playing like nothing happened.

Interested in hearing more about this... is there any sort of article on this? I haven't played at CR yet but I plan on it and if there is some cheating going on I want to steer clear.

Player 86'd
Player let back in after 2 weeks
Other players upset/ boycott
3 mo later same player 86'd for good
damage done

Hey all. I was just up in Reno ('cause family wanted to go) and apparently Peppermill was having some sort of deep stack series. (Structure was actually great.) But there weren't many runners as TV had their Sweet 16 series still going. I got to thinking that I need to compile some sort of list of worthwhile tournaments in the area. Just gonna quote my post from the SF/Bay Area thread so you guys get the idea:

I'm trying to compile a list of not only weekly and monthly tournaments, but also series that run around the area.

For example, Sunday tourneys and Last Sunday tourneys at LC, Gold Rush, Battle of the Bay, Shooting Star, etc.

Eventually I'd like for my list to expand to the Sacramento area as well.

Just want to see if I can save time and not have to visit the individual websites of each casino. Thanks in advance.

Set some parameters. Are you asking for $200+, $500+? Are you looking for 1 day turbo local tourneys, 30 min levels w/ bad structures, or series type events? Avg players >50, >100?

As far as Sacramento goes, TVC has the only "series" in town. Capitol Casino & TVC have the only monthly that get ~80+ runners. I know that Royale, Cordova, & Lucky Derby all put on tournaments, but not sure how the turnout is at any.

$200+, 1-day (all day) or longer, 30min+ with good structure. Series type events included. Averaging over 50 players to be lenient.

But I think you answered my questions. I'll keep an eye out for TV tourney series (seems they've had them pretty often no? NorCal Classic, Sweet Sixteen). The monthly Capitol and TV tournies I will add to my list.

Lucky Derby Saturday night:

Played the $225 buyin tournament that had 59 runners paid top 10. Had 15k SS, 25 min levels, but skipped lots of levels (standard local tourney), my favorite jump was from 600-1200 to 1k-2k.

Cash games they had two 1-2 NL ($20-100 buyin) going when I arrived around 5:30pm, and by 9pm they had started a 1-3 NL($60-300 buyin). I didn't play cash, but did find my self enjoying libations while listening to people butcher classics in the karaoke sports bar that is attached.

The decor hasn't changed in 10 years, but the staff is friendly and accommodating. They are also on the verge of relocating, but I didn't catch the exact date. It was funny seeing a couple of the guys I played 10-20 NL with 6-7 years ago, grinding 1-2 NL.

Yes. I was just thinking the same thing!

like $100-$200 buyin, try to fill 32 player bracket. Would prob have to be single elim but wouldn't mind double.

Final 4 (or final 2) should be best of 3s if its single elim.

Ceasars runs good HU tourneys w good enough formats. Ill look up structure to post here if there's interest

You ****ing ass clown, you can draw me any night of the week. You got my number.

As far as a HU tourney goes, I'm in, but doubt we could get more than 16. We probably can't do it in a casino, because the house/ dealer take would be to high, that means it would have to be a private game/ self deal type situation, and that being said, doubt it will ever happen.

I played in that one last month. 53 runners, cashed 9th for $310.
You aren't kidding about the level jumps but as you say standard for sac.
Funniest part is they marketed it as a "10k guarantee" only applies if they get 50 runners! Theres nothing guaranteed abou it lol!! I berated the TD and at least it doesn't say 10k gtd anymore on the website. U sure it had 25min levels? 20 last month....

Would love to play HU though.
