Like all thunder valley tournaments, it was too slow early and too fast late with a bad payout structure. Other than that, it was great!

We will be getting together when people get back from the main.

Hello

I'm in the Sacramento area - nearby Roseville. Thought I would join a forum in hopes of improving my skill set. Nice to meet you all!

Down to 68 in Main and Sacramento is well represented. Actually more players from Nor Cal (5) than LV (4). Does anyone know if any of these players won their seat at Thunder?!
17 Dan Owen 3,750,000 Napa
28 JC Tran 3,280,000 Sacramento
33 Josh Prager 2,800,000 Yuba City
34 Erkut Yilmaz 2,735,000 Sacramento
55 Steve Gee 1,360,000 Sacramento

JC Tran, Sac's best known poker pro and capitol reg 3rd in chips with 31 left! Last women knocked out, but Sac also has Steven Gee going for b2b November Nine.

Steve Gee is clearly a good player, I think the consensus is that he lucked his way to the FT last year. But a bracelet in a 1k nlhe in 2010, last years 9th and now another deep run in main and he's guaranteed $285,408.
He has made it known that he has been haunted by his 9th place finish after coming in 5th in chips last year because he made a big mistake not considering the money jumps enough.

That's a lot of words for a post that says very little.

JC Tran was a cap reg like 8 years ago. Now he plays there about as often as Kendrick Perkins

I know from 5-10 regs that he plays often enough.

JC Tran 33,050,000 = chipleader with 11 left.

Supposedly this Saturday, with a reasonable chance at not until the end of the month.

You can go to thunder valleys poker blog site and it lists the four players who won a seat. Only one guy was a tournament reg. the rest were cash game players since the promotion to win a seat was by playing tons of hours in cash games. Would like to see an actual tournament promotion next year and send all tournament players.

If JC plays locally, it's at the Cap, but he plays rarely at most, and only if they have a big game. Either way, it's great that a local is doing well in the ME and I hope he goes on to win it.

As far as CR moving, I'd bet it happens in the next week, I believe they are only waiting on last minute city approval, but what would I know.
