Anyone know anything about how many runners this $500 at Red Hawk on Sat might get?
Structure seems kind of fast for a local $500. 20min levels and starts at 50/100.

Played in the weekly once. So can only speak to that.

Probably worst structure I've played in a long time. Got lucky I guess and won it. Halfway through I vowed never to play it again but after taking down the points I just want to win the whole thing.

The $500 obviously is better but still with turbo blinds not sure how it goes for two days. . Its really just designed to get people chasing the points. Gets people into red hawk that otherwise never would have made the trip. They are running satellites today and all week I believe. Be prepared. The field is full of unbelieving gamblers. Not poker players. Understand this and you will do well as I was called down every time by less than top pair.

Quote of the day "I just didn't believe you had the ace".

Good luck!

Oh but can you blame them? With the structure not sure how you can play a hand and then fold on flop or later too many times.

Hi All,

With the Ante Up Championship coming to Thunder Valley I'd like to try to satellite into the Main Event $1,650. Have any played in a $360ish satellite at Thunder Valley. Do you suggest single table or multi table? Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks for info. I think I'll pass on the turbo. Excited about the upcoming series at TV though.

Multi tables were good in past. That's where I will be.

Play the crapshoot multi-table sats (15-minute levels with only 4000 chips to start), which are loaded with players who make the wrong decisions at key inflection points (i.e. nit tight players who fold with over 1/2 their chips committed in the big blind; plus suck out artists who call with thin draws.) Pray that you don't get sucked out.

Thanks dude.

This sounds like a fun tournament. I've been hoping that Thunder would run a $500 turbo so it would be cool to get an opportunity to play one. Unfortunately I called in to the poker room and got about zero help with any of my questions. Sounds like there is no guarantee, no idea what kind of field they're expecting. He told me they're thinking around 50, which is not good.

Not sure if this is worth it.

Wish I could have made it. Small field to win big points for the poy race. That's really what the event is for.

Anyone have opinions on the 1/3 NL game at Thunder Valley? I haven't played there in years and the last time I was there 7/9 or so people on the table were people I had seen before or seemed like regs. Any idea if the low games are pretty decent on the weekends?
