Don't forget the "optional" $5-10 that goes to dealers.

Does anyone know how many players showed up to the Monday Omaha 8 tourney at TV? I wanted to know if it'd be worth coming next week when they have it again.

117 players.

Played one hand poorly, ( tried to run over an old, tight player when should have slowed down) and got unlucky in another. ( A 10 10 board , had A10 in the BB, got quartered by another fish with A 10 and some other moron took the low).

Plus, I got stuck with the one moron who kept splashing all his chips in the pot. Another guy got pissed and call over the floor guy and refused to play until he did. Took around 8-9 minutes for one hand to be played and never really recovered and was frustrated the whole time.

The game is pretty soft, mostly middle aged and older guys who play super tight and don't really know what they are doing.

Long time reader here, just realized we had a Sacramento thread. Been playing at Capitol regularly when I've had time. Out of all the card rooms, I actually enjoy this one the most.

You can usually see me at the 1/3,2/5. But I was just there yesterday night playing 5/10, a lot of good action. I also play a lot of the Friday tournies as well as the $220 and if I can win seats to the $550. Decently structured tournies. The last 550 lasted from 11am-almost midnight I heard.

Good to see that a lot of 2p2 players in sac too. I'm the kid that almost always wears a green hoody. Just say "Hey Justin"

FLO8 doesn't need antes. At least TRY to know about something before you share an opinion about it.

Every table there is 10 handed, tournament or cash game. It gets especially cramped on the middle seats.

For the same reason that PLO doesn't need antes: the game has no problem forcing action. One of the beautiful things about Omaha variants is that the equities all run together (you're never crushed pre) and hand strength tends to correlate, i.e. a flush draw is more likely to be held by both players in a HU pot than in Hold 'Em. For those reasons, people should be willing to play more hands pre, thus making antes unnecessary. The games that require antes are the games where nitty play ruins the game like Stud, deep-stacked hold 'em, draw poker, etc.

Depends on who's in the game, but on most days, compared to TV it plays big. When I do play, I play nights, & haven't been in a couple weeks.

Anyone from the east bay area want to carpool to thunder valley for the 30k tournament?
A question for the regs at TV, if I drive out there tomorrow any chance I won't get in?

I'm buying large pieces of anyone interested in playing the 60k at Thunder this weekend. Just PM me a link to your stats or some proof that you are not a giant money sieve.

Heads up to anyone playing the 60k, the 30k had 60 alternates, only 18 of which got seated. I'd show up at least an hour before the tourny starts.
