Hear hear!!!

Justin, it was good to meet you last Friday. I am tired of driving up to Reno/Tahoe to play in tournaments with the kind of structures I want. I hope that you will make good on your promises because I really think Sacramento needs better quality tournaments.

For the $220 buy-in tournament, what's the structure like?

For the dealers at CR, I noticed that a lot of them have some bad habits. Raking in bets when not being asked, counting bets when not being asked, etc. Is your goal to have your tournament dealers imitate what WSOP dealers do as closely as possible?

Thanks!!

Yes, that is a goal of mine. I want things to be as standardized as possible so players are not running into "surprises" and "weird rulings" during their game. My assistant Khanh and I are watching all of the dealers closely and following up with the ones that have a few bad habits. We have only been at this a week and already seen tremendous improvement. The $220 has a great structure with antes and 30 minute levels. Starting in June I would like to have a guarantee as well. I hope that's ok to discuss in this forum but I'm sure someone will tell me if it's not! lol

Currently only during day tournament hours (roughly 10am-4pm) If the demand is there I will offer them all day. I have had one 6 handed sit & go a day since I've started offering them.

I guess I'll try my luck in the 11am deep stack today since it's the first time I've been awake before noon in a while
Justin is going to to do an excellent job at Royale !

We will try to set up satellite for the 220 during tournament hours day and evening.

The Satellite Tournament will have a maximum of 70 players and will have a total guaranteed prize pool of $15,000. 1st place will get a $10,000 seat at the WSOP plus $2,000 in travel money. 2nd and 3rd place will receive $1,000 seat plus $500 in travel money. All players will start with $10,000 in tournament chips and the blinds will be 20 minute levels for the first six levels and 30 minutes for all remaining levels. Players who have already won a seat may continue to play the daily tournament for a chance to win a double stack of $20,000 in starting tournament chips. Any remaining seats not won by our tournament qualifiers will be available for direct purchase during the final week leading up to the Satellite tournament for $225. Any players who either purchase or win an entry may also purchase a double stack for $125.

Anyone interested in a single table Main Event Satellite? I was thinking of just ripping off the wsop structure and buyin and running it at CR, but would be open to other locations/ structures. Im confident I could hustle at least 5 or 6 players, id just want 4 or 5 commitments itt. Next Thursday works for me. Would also be fine with an equity share satellite, where all the losers get like 3% each or something.

WSOP Structure $1030 buyin 20 min levels 5k starting chips
25 / 50
50 / 100
100 / 200
150 / 300
200 / 400

800 / 1600

Too rich for my blood. I would play with 20 people though. Probably too late to put it together.

Maybe next year. Good luck to all the locals heading down to LV for the WSOP this year.

Fun fact: someone from the Sacramento area has won a brecelet 5 of the last 6 years.

JsTs did you and ABarber ever play HU? I'm finally moved in and if you're still looking for a match, I'm game.

Nope. How was your experience?

It's a small room. Reminds me of one of the San Diego Card Rooms like Village Club. They had 1 5-10NL game going which I played. They also had 1 2-5NL and a few 1-3NL. They give you $1/hr for your rewards card. The floor and dealers were nice. The 5-10NL game had a guy named Clark playing in it. Apparently he's the owner of the place or something. I found that a little odd. The games seemed pretty good. People were either very loose or very weak tight or super nitty.

It almost played like an online game in the PF raise sizes. The standard raises were like 25 or 30 PF. That is until I was making it 40 every hand.

I dusted off a lot of money in that game. Pretty abyssmal session. I plan on playing mostly there even though I haven't been anywhere else except for Thunder Valley. 1. Because it's the closest. 2. From what I've read it has the only regular 5-10NL game. 3. I haven't read, seen or heard about anything that would warrant me driving further to any of the other rooms.

Except I do need to go to the Bay area and check out Lucky Chances. Also Bay 101 I heard is great.

The 5-10 at Royale played SUPER BIG last night. Also, FWIW, they are having 2 mega satellites to the Venetian DSE on Friday/Saturday. I'm playing today's and then it's off to Vegas for the WSOP. If anyone from Sac wants to meet up while they are down there, feel free to PM me.

The Royale 5-10 has been a 5-10 mandatory 20 straddle 1k min buy last two weeks, avg PFR $80-120. It goes mon-thurs mostly, starts around 5pm. As for Cap, it's always fun trying to beat Clark out of some dough, but he has always held over me. You'll find that the cardrooms in the area are all small.

If anyone is interested in playing in a WSOP satellite league for next year, please PM me. The buy-in will be between 320 and 350 depending on the number of players and 3-4 people get seats to a $1500 event. We will be using WSOP dealers so you don't need to worry about shuffling & dealing. There will be 12 events starting in August and running through April 2013.
